Hello beauties!
How is everybody? Fantastic, I hope. And I gotta say, as much as I hate Mnet, I do have to applaud every single performance by every group on Kingdom. I've been enjoying them all so much, each group is just so different but every stage is outstandingly amazing! What do you all think of Kingdom if you're watching?
Today I have a fluffy little chapter for you that just has a tiny, lil' hint of angst, I promise it isn't bad. Seriously, the entire second half of the chapter is just the kids frolicking in a forest lol, it's cute haha.
I hope you all enjoy! I'm really happy to be updating again! :)
*Note: Hyunjin is still present in this story. I know his absence is hard and we all miss him, so please be kind to yourself, if you think reading about him will make you upset or sad, I would suggest not reading this update until our lovestay boy returns or you feel able to read :)<3<3<3*

Chan jumped as a small piece of damaged metal hit the kitchen table and rolled to a stop in front of the wolf hybrid.
Chan furrowed his brows, poking at a loose spring on the chunk of round metal as Hyunjin strut up to the table, a hand on his hip and his bottom lip pulled taunt between his teeth.
"What's this?" The leader asked, pretending he didn't already know as he curiously observed the device's jagged edges and askew wires. It looked as if it had been crushed.
"A tracker," Hyunjin sighed, brushing a nervous hand through his hair. "I found it in the pocket of Sungie's jeans."
The husky pulled out the closest chair, falling into it as Chan closed his laptop, relief flouring his heart. They stared at the little device.
"All captive hybrids have trackers," Chan affirmed, unsure if he was trying to reassure Hyunjin or himself, "By the looks of this one, I'd say Jisung knew about it and destroyed it when he escaped. In this condition, there's no way it is still transmitting a signal."
Hyunjin nodded but he still looked uneasy, refusing to me Chan's eyes.
"That's what I thought too," He said, his hands stuffed deep in his pockets, "But just to be sure, I checked for more."
"More?" Chan asked with a grimace. There was a sinking feeling in his stomach. "I highly doubt there would be another one, it's extraordinarily rare for traffickers to implant more than one -"
"I found another one." Hyunjin blurted out.
Chan's mouth snapped shut with an audible click.
Hyunjin tossed the broken tracker over his shoulder, replacing it with another. This tracker was smaller, smooth and flat where the other had multiple wires and was bumpy. Clearly, it was meant to be kept secret.
Inside the device, a tiny lightbulb was covered by a glass dome, and wires were woven along the metal making for a seamless, intricate design.
The bulb blinked a dull red.
Hyunjin pulled at a loose wire, pinching it between two fingers. The light flickered out but the fear it had ignited remained lit.
"It was woven into the fibers of his shirt," Hyunjin murmured quietly, "Probably implanted long before Sungie got it. I doubt he knew about it."
"Was it still transmitting?" Chan asked, equally as quiet but a touch more frantic. He gingerly touched the machine, recoiling as if it had burnt him, as if he couldn't believe he'd ever handled such an object.
