Chapter 13

*Time Skip-1 Month to April 2

Addison POV:

It's been a month since I told Bryce, and he has been so supportive. He pays attention to all the small detail of how I am doing, and I just appreciate it so much. This morning we skipped the first period to just lay in bed and cuddle. Bryce and I have been skipping a lot more school as I've had my problems with my complicated family situation, and his dad was getting worse. He never talked about his dad, but I knew it was getting worse. This is why I allowed his bad days, and I took care of him as much as he took care of me. As we walked into the school just after the bell went off, indicating the first period was over, we ran into our friends.

Bl: Well, well, if it isn't the couple who skips school

B: One period is nothing, Blake. Don't be so dramatic.

Bl: When do you think we can have our boy back, Adds?

A: Whenever you want him, but let me tell you, he likes me a lot better. I give him cuddles and kisses. I don't think you guys can give him that. 

We all began to laugh as we talked a little more.  We continued talking until the bell rang. Bryce had to go to get to class on time, so I walked to class alone. I didn't have a problem walking to class alone, but I got used to being around Bryce. As I sat in class, I spaced out and thought about how I was basically living at Bryce's, and I couldn't live there. But, I also couldn't live at my mom's house. As this period ended, I was walking in the hall when Elle stood in front of me. 

A: I don't have time for your bullshit Elle. So if you could kindly get out of my way, I would appreciate it. 

E: Aww, look not so big without her boyfriend. I will never understand why Bryce chooses to be with you, especially when he has me. 

A: Maybe you don't understand because you're a slut, and it's more to a relationship than sex. But you've never had a real relationship Elle and you probably never will because you're a bitch who only gives a fuck about herself. 

E: I care about more things.

A: Like what

E: Don't forget I run the school, Addison. I can ruin your life and your relationship. 

A: Let me tell you something, Elle, you need high school to make yourself feel better. You use high school to build yourself up by tearing others down. People aren't going to care if you ruled high school. And to be honest, I don't care for you at all, but you aren't going to continue talking to me this way. Because I have real shit going on, and my issues are bigger than you being jealous over my relationship. 

I then walked straight past her as I walked to class. I couldn't do this today; I couldn't deal with Elle bullshit today. As I was walked into class, I sat next to Bryce. He could tell something was wrong. But he wasn't going to press the issue, and I was glad. I didn't want my problems to consume his life. I was a big girl, and I knew how to take care of my own problems way before he came along. But, it was nice knowing someone else was there to help me if I needed it. And Bryce was constantly there, even if it wasn't verbally. He was just there in any way I needed him, but never sexually, which I appreciated because I didn't want our relationship to be about just sex. 

Bryce POV:

Something was wrong with Addison, but I could tell she didn't want to talk. We, as a united, had a lot going on, and I knew Addison didn't want to add to what I had going on. My dad was getting worse, and it something that has been concerning my mom. The doctor let us know that we may have to prepare to say goodbye soon. I knew if I lost my dad, I would lose my mom, and I didn't know what I would do. Addison knew my dad's cancer was getting worse, but she wasn't aware of its severity. I wasn't ready to tell her because she was going through so much.  The day flew by quickly, and I was happy. As Addison and I walked out of ceramics, I held her hand as she rested her head on my shoulder.
