I sat on the bed, my knees tucked close to my chest as I stared down at the floor. I let out a long sigh and checked the time on my alarm clock to see it was 1AM. I wasn't getting any sleep anytime soon. I crept out of bed and creaked open my door and peeped my head out. I looked around to see the coast was clear and I crept out and shut the door behind me. Suddenly, I heard the front door shut and I quickly crept to Hannibal's room to see he wasn't in bed. He must've just came back from... somewhere. I got into his bed and acted asleep.
I heard his door creak open yet I still kept my eyes closed. I heard some rustling and Hannibal clearing his throat then getting back into his bed. I felt his breath imprint my face and an arm been wrapped around me. I couldn't help but smile so I acted like I was rolling over in my sleep so he wouldn't see my face.
——— the morning ———
I sat up in bed and I rubbed my eye and glanced over to where Hannibal laid last night and he wasn't in bed. I suppose he's already in the kitchen. I lifted up my jumper to check on my wounds and they seem to be doing better. That was a good start to the morning. I got out of bed, yawning, and I headed over to the bathroom to start a shower.
I walked into the kitchen to see Hannibal cooking some kidney - explains where he was last night. He had a kitchen towel over his shoulder and rolled up his sleeves as he cooked.
"Who you eating today?" I asked him, sitting myself down at the breakfast bar.
"And good morning to you too" he replied back to me, flipping the meat that violently sizzled in the pan.
"Where were you last night?" I asked him, avoiding to sound angry - just curious. There was a moment of silence before he answered.
"I went to go see an old friend" he replied back to me. I raised an eyebrow and slanted my head at him.
"That being Chilton?" I asked him. He lightly chuckled and shook his head.
"No. I don't need him yet, best save him" Hannibal told me, putting the cooked kidney on a plate. His comment was a little amusing to me, as it made me smile. I grabbed an apple from his fruit bowl while he sat down beside me, with his breakfast.
"I shall cook you something proper" Hannibal noticed what was in my hand and went to stand up but I tugged on his arm, grabbing his attention.
"I'm leaving soon anyway, I have something I need to do" I promised Hannibal.
"But you need nutrients" Hannibal debated back. I lightly chuckled and shook my head.
"Just sit" I laughed. He hesitantly sat down and continued to eat.
"What is so important that you must do? Break into another office?" He asked me. I smirked and shook my head.
"Just need to go see someone" I Faintly told Hannibal.
"Who might that be?" Hannibal asked me.
"I'm buying us more time so when everything falls, we have more on our side to let us leave" I answered him. He chewed his food slowly as he stared at me and I stared back at him.
"Why don't we just leave, like I suggested before but you kindly refused" Hannibal offered to me.
"And I'll just kindly refuse again" I replied back to him, quickly.
"You are testing your luck" He warned me.
"It's not luck I got" I muttered to him. He didn't reply back to me and I got up and threw my apple in bin.
"I should get going" I said to him as I walked out the kitchen.——— Graham residence ———
Will handed me over a glass of water and I took it off him.
"Thanks" I smiled to Will. He nodded his head at me then sat down beside me. His dogs circled the couch and wagged their tails. He had many small, medium and large dogs, all different colours and breeds. I petted his Labrador and it stuck its tongue out and I chuckled, as did Will.
"You like dogs?" Will asked me, smacking his lips together after taking a sip of his drink.
"I do but I never owned one. Plus, I wouldn't have the time for one" I answered Will, looking back over at him, who was glaring over at me. He always held eye contact with me and that'll do me good to get his trust.
"Not even in your childhood, you owned a dog? Or a pet?" He asked me, smiling. I chuckled at him and nodded my head.
"We had horses, two of them" I informed him. He raised his eyebrows and I smirked at him, taking another sip from my cold glass of water.
"What happened to them?" Will asked me, he was getting to know me.
"Sold them" that was a half-truth, we gave them away when we had to flee the Lars residence.
"Miss them?" He questioned me.
"They weren't mine, really. They were my mums. She did love them though" I smiled at the thought of my mother and Will caught onto my smile.
"Why did she give them up, if she loved them?" Will asked me, slowly.
"We couldn't look after them anymore" I shrugged my shoulders and finished my drink, as did Will. I put it on the small table beside the couch and stared back over at Will.
"Where are your parents?" Will spat out. I avoided gasping or looking away from him. I just kept my eyes on him and remembered he is an empath.
"Somewhere nice I hope. I haven't spoken to them in a while, what about your parents?" I asked Will, turning the tables on him.
"Somewhere I also hope is nice" he responded to me. He glanced away from me for a second before looking back over at me. That reminded him of something. I scuttled over next to him and rested my head on his arm. Moments later, he put his arm around me. I stared in front of myself as there was silence, except for the dogs.
"Don't you find it strange about the two rippers?" Will asked me. I so desperately wanted to hear what he had to say.
"What do you mean?" I asked him.
"The Chesapeake ripper killed last night, if you didn't know. Then the Baltimore ripper is on the low. Why?" Will asked me. I shrugged my shoulders and slightly yawned.
"That's a good thing. Nobody had irritated them or maybe they're even dead. I hope it was the first one, I want to see them" I replied back to Will.
"The feelings mutual" Will muttered back to me. Then I got a thought, that I now desperately want to hear the answer for.
"What will you do to the Baltimore ripper once we catch them?" I asked him. He thought for a moment before answering.
"Why did they do it.." Will answered me. I could've easily answered it to him, since I haven't only just killed to avenge my family, but also for my needs.
"We'll find that out soon" I muttered to him. I looked up at him and he looked down at me.
"And what will you do to the Chesapeake ripper?" I asked him.
"Kill them" he answered, almost instantly. I couldn't help but slightly smile at him and he smiled back down at me.
"And why not kill the Baltimore ripper?" I asked him.
"Because they are not cannibals, they are driven by something from their past. Nothing backs that up for the Chesapeake ripper case. They're just purely insane and killed people for their meals or scare people in MaryLand... I almost feel sorry for the Baltimore ripper" Will answered me, almost instantly.
"I won't be holding you back for when you catch the Chesapeake ripper, but promise me that I see it..." I whispered to him.
"Never knew you also hated them" he whispered to me.
"There's a lot you gotta know about me" I replied back to him. He smiled down at me again and my plan was working. If Jack caught onto anything, Will would surely be stuck on what side to take and only cause confusion. Buying me more time to leave. However, I must keep him to like me until Grutas arrives, if he arrives and if I last that long.
"Well, tell me about yourself" Will suggested to me.
"Can't give it all away like that, you gotta earn it" I teased. He smirked and leaned down at me.
"Fine" he whispered to me and gently kissed me. I kissed him back and I was glad my plan worked out, now just to keep it running. I slowly sat on top of his lap and he ran one hand through my hair while the other hand held my waist. I put my arms around his neck and I begun to unbutton his shirt.Hannibal's POV
I checked My phone and saw a text of Jack, but I couldn't possibly care what he had to say, I was more concerned where Grace was.
Jack:
We need Everyone to the head quarters, we all must go see Abel Gideon. Especially Grace.I sighed, wondering where Grace was and she left her phone here so nobody could call or track where she was - smart girl. I hesitantly replied to Jack, attempting to cover for Grace.
Hannibal:
Grace has a high fever. I shall see what I can do with her, however.I put my phone into my blazer pocket and grabbed my trench coat. I kept rewinding what Grace said to me. 'We have more on our side to let us leave'. I let out a loud sigh and hurried over to my car, realising what she's planning.
——— Graham's residence ———
I pulled up outside Will's house and I hurried out my car and over to the front door. Instead of knocking, I opened up the door and saw Will's shirt on the ground and my theory was correct - she's manipulating Will. So when we flee, she hopes Will buys her more time etc. I even felt a little angry. I acted like I didn't know Grace was here and I marched over to his bedroom, and the door was closed - no surprise there.
"Will! We must be going to see Gideon!" I shouted out them then opened up the door. It came to no surprise, to see Grace resting her head on Will's bare chest. Will shot his head up and Grace didn't even care, she just sat up, adjusting her hair and covering herself with the duvet. She didn't show that she was startled, she knew that I'd find out. I discreetly chewed on my tongue and wondered what lengths Grace would take to get what she wants.
"...Jack needs our presence to discuss about Abel Gideon and his recent crimes" I sighed to Will. He grabbed his pants off the floor while Grace put on her underwear and slowly walked out the room, staring right over at me and she saw the rage - I tried to hide - on my face.
"My clothes are in there" she muttered to me, as she took her time to walk past me. She brushed past my arm to pass me and I attempted to keep my eyes off her, to show that I don't care but I glanced back at her to see she was collecting her things off the floor and it felt wrong of me to look. Will rushed over to me, buckling his pants and I held my hands in front of me.
"Doctor Lecter, uh..." he managed to say to me, grabbing another shirt from his dresser.
"Charming isn't she?" I asked him. His face flushed a different colour and he began to button up his shirt. He didn't respond to me and I glanced back at Grace to see she was pulling up her jeans and I looked away again, to respect her privacy. I'm glad I broke it up when I did, even when I was a little late.
"As I was saying, Jack calls for us at the FBI" I said to him. He grabbed his glasses and put them then hurried past me. I followed him to the front room, where Grace was finishing up changing by putting on her shirt and adjusting her brunette hair. She knew I'd be the one to break it up and sincerely did not care. She caught me staring at her and she stared back at me, shrugging her shoulders at me. I glanced back over at Will to see he was rushing around to find other belongings so I used this opportunity to talk to her. I stood beside her while she was putting on her jacket and I whispered to her.
"What outcome are you hoping for?" I asked her, angrily. She adjusted her collar on her jacket then looked back up at me. I took note of her beauty and her scarred eyebrow, with a tragic past to it.
"He likes me. He'll take my side and cause confusion to Jack. Your welcome" she whispered to me.
"I feel no need to thank you. You did make him like you. He'll want to come with us now" I reminded her, my desires for killing Will getting even stronger.
"And who says I like him?" She asked me.
"Do you like me? Or was I also just as blind?" I asked her, hoping she'll be kinder with her words.
"I tried to make you hate me" she replied back to me. I slanted my head at her and pulled a confused look but Will entered the room again so I backed up and looked over at Will, who was wearing a coat.
