I sat down in Jack's office and let out a long exhale, running my hand through my brunette hair as I was deep in my thoughts. I really shouldn't of said them words to Hannibal, he could use them against me any time. I still know what he is and who he is. Suddenly, the door creaked open and I shot my head up to see Jack. He glanced around the room before his eyes laid on me and he raised en eyebrow at me. I quickly stood up.
"Sorry, I'll go" I said as I hurried to the door but Jack stopped me by putting his hand in the way.
"No need. I was actually looking for you" Jack informed me. I slanted my head at him and wondered what this could be about.
"Come sit" Jack tapped the chair and I did as he said. I observed him walk over behind his desk and sit down. He clasped his hands together and rested them on the desk while Jack looked me up and down, slightly irritating me.
"Why aren't you going to Bedelia's therapy sessions?" Jack questioned me. I scoffed and chewed my tongue before saying something
"All she talks about is Doctor Lecter and nothing much to do with me. Why should I bother going?-" I asked but Jack spoke over me.
"Because you were sent into her care since you slept with your therapist!" He shouted.
"Ohhh that's what this is! I'm perfectly sane!" I shouted back, not afraid to push his buttons since he pushed me.
"Doctor Lecter came to me earlier to say otherwise" he mumbled to me. I felt my blood suddenly boil and my chest beat rapidly.
"What did he say?" I asked him sarcastically, since I had enough of Hannibal and planned on saying something anyway.
"Things I cannot say. Tomorrow, I expect you at Bedelia's or else you won't come back here. Understood?" Jack instructed me. I stayed silent for a moment before answering. I stared right into his eyes while I waited and he stared back in mine.
"You're not my father. You don't get-" I tried to say but yet again, Jack interrupted me.
"Live in the real world Grace, you still told what to do all the time, whether you like it or not" Jack scowled to me.
"I am in the real world!" I cursed to him.
"No. No you're not" Jack mumbled to me.
"Fuck you, Jack" I said to him then I stood up and hurried out the room. I paced down the corridor, wondering where to go. I was in no state to find Hannibal and the sun was already setting. I swung open the front doors to the building and ran over to my motorbike, deciding where to go.——— The Lars estate ———
I watched mother put alcohol on a cotton bud while I sat on the kitchen counter. My heart sunk seeing her approach me and I wanted to run away, but I was taught better than that.
"We must clean your wound, Grace. So it doesn't get infected" mother warned me. I glanced down at my knee caps to see them all scrapped up since I took a tumble outside, while I chased Arthur. Arthur was the one who collected my mother and father to help me.
"I know...." I mumbled to mother, bracing myself.
"Are you going to be brave?" She asked me, smiling. Her smile made me all warm inside and instantly made me feel better. She had a gorgeous smile, I always wanted to look just like her once I was older. Mother knelt down to get a view of my kneecaps and begun to clean them. I gasped and involuntary flinched, but mother still cleaned my wounds.
"Nearly over..." she promised me while I was squealing under my breath. Mother bounced back up and it meant she was over. I let out a relieved sigh and she kissed my cheek then threw away the cotton buds.
"You take your bravery after your father, dear" mother informed me while she was throwing away the cotton buds at the bin. A smile grew on my face and I felt accomplished, knowing I was growing up to be like my parents.——— Will's home ———
I sat at Will's couch with a cup of water in my hands as I stared at the floor. I could hear dogs tapping the wooden floor all around me. Suddenly, I felt the couch be weighed down by another body and I glanced over to see Will sat down staring at me with sympathy. I hated sympathy.
"Don't look at me like that..." I mumbled to him, looking back down at the floor.
"Looking at you like what?" He asked me.
"You feel sorry for me. Stop" I responded to him, taking a sip of my water. There was a long pause of silence but I stood up and placed my water down on the coffee table then went to sit beside Will. He wrapped an arm around me and I stayed very still, I didn't cuddle close to him.
"So, what happened?" Will asked me. I let out a long sigh before I changed the subject.
"Where's Alana?" I asked.
"She didn't come in today, not sure why" Will informed me. I scoffed and played with my fingers, I hoped she was dead somewhere.
"So... you answer me now" Will nudged me slightly.
"Jack just enjoys pushing me to my last nerve and Hannibal just... just always is confusing" I confessed. Will pulled a confused look at me and sat up, removing his arm from me.
"What do you mean Hannibal is confusing?" Will asked me. I quickly thought of an excuse.
"He still goes to Jack saying he's worried about my mental health, even when he's not my therapist" I told Will, converting the truth slightly.
"Talk to him about it" Will suggested to me.
"Like it would be that easy, he-" I went on to say but Will quickly covered my mouth using his palm. I stayed very silent and barely moved, then Will whistled for his dogs to stop barking. The silence was deadly, piercing through me while I waited for something to happen. That's when I heard it. A twig crunching outside. Will glanced at me to check if I heard it and I nodded my head at him. Now, if I was to kill something, I couldn't kill it like I usually do. However, my work has been sloppy recently. Will stood up and grabbed his rifle from the top of his fireplace and handed it over to me. My eyes widened and I hesitantly took it off him. The second it was in my hands, a window smashed behind us and I spun over to see what it seemed to be, a man in a deer costume Made out of bones. I didn't think, I just raised the rifle - with a scope on it - and shot but the bullet bounced off the costume.
"Are you fucking kidding me?!" I shrieked, diving out of the way from the man charging at me. I ended up on the floor and I rolled over to shoot again, but not where the bones are - and that was really difficult. I ended up shooting the murderer in the leg and I heard him grunt. Suddenly, Will came up behind the murderer and took of the mask to reveal the young employer at the museum. The young man Hannibal knew, this was no coincidence. The intruder quickly knocked off Will and went to stab him using the antlers but I shot the intruder in the other leg and the man shrieked before landing on his knees with his head bowed down, trapping Will in the wall. Will kneed the intruder in the face and they fell to the floor. I observed Will sit down on top of the intruder and tried to pull off the antlers from his head but it was no use. I hurried over to assist and once I got there, I saw Will staring down at the intruder with pure horror on his face.
"H-Hannibal?" Will asked. The young boy and I pulled a confused look and that's when the employer quickly got themselves free by punching and scratching at Will. I tackled the employer and sat down on them to keep them secure in place. I restrained their wrists and looked back at Will, trying to make them stay in place but it was like they were a savage animal. They could handle a few bullets to the leg and still attempt to fight back and they were very strong.
"Will!" I shouted but he was totally out of it, I'm not sure what exactly he saw but it was definitely not good news. Once I realised there was no use for Will, I strangled the young employer to death. His eyes went blood shot, his face went red and he made inaudible noises. He tried to scratch at my face but I'd imagine that his limbs felt heavy to him.
"Shhh" I whispered to him, thinking about when I did this to Erika. The young employer dropped dead after a few moments and I checked their pulse, to feel nothing. I jumped off the young employer and rushed to check on Will, to see he had his knees close to his chest while leaning on the couch.
"Will?" I asked him. I put my hands on his cheeks and he flinched a little before realising it was me. He analysed the worry on my face and started to sob.
"What did you see?" I asked him as I drew him in for a hug.
"The wendigo... it looked like Hannibal..." he sobbed.
