Ochaco stretched her arms toward the amber sky. Classes had barely ended for the day, and they had her worn out. Other classmates passed her, heading back to their dorms, or wherever they may decide to go. She waved goodbye to them as they went, until a particular green haired fellow came along.
"Oh, Izuku!" She grabbed his arm, causing him to stop. "Are you um... Free to hang out?"
"Yeah! I'm free. Wait, like right now?"
"Mhm, like right now," Ochaco noticed his face was turning progressively more red the longer the two talked, and she could feel hers was too. She added on to her statement to make things less awkward.
"If that's okay, I mean we can probably hang out another time. And don't worry! Mina and Denki will be coming along so it's not like a date or anything weird-"
She could not believe she just said that out loud. She cupped her mouth with her hands, and gasped.
"Not that I wouldn't date you or something! You're really nice!" She waved her hands frantically, trying desperately to make up for the words she let slip from her mouth.
"It's okay! I think I know what you meant!" A bead of sweat dripped down Izuku's forehead. "I can hang out right now, I don't have much going on."
"Alright, sweet!"
Ochaco felt her pocket vibrate.
Thank goodness, an excuse to stop talking.
Her hand reached inside her pocket, and pulled out an old flip phone— she was a little self-conscious that it wasn't a fancy smart phone like everyone else's, but hey, it worked.
The screen displayed a new message from Jirou:
'Hey, I invited Mina and Yaoyorozu, and they suggested we go to a drive-in theater. What do you think?'
"Ooh, drive in theater?" Ochaco showed the text to Izuku.
"Those are so cool!" he gripped his backpack straps, "Do any of us own a car, though?"
"I bet Yaoyorozu does, or at least her parents might."
"Awesome, so are we going now? Or.." Izuku inquired.
A few voices came from behind them, chirping in a chipper response.
"If that's okay with you, Midoriya, I think we should leave right now! Yao-momo's created us our very own car and everything." Denki flashed a peace sign at the crew, "And I brought the blankets and pillows. No need to thank me!"
Jirou folded her arms, and huffed the hair away from her face. "Right, well, we shouldn't keep Mina and Yao-Momo waiting. They're in the parking lot."
Denki hopped forward, leading the crew to the lot where Mina and Yaoyorozu would allegedly be waiting for them. A few feet into the parking lot, a mini-van raced towards them, screeching its wheels to a stop just a few feet in front of them. The driver's window slid down, revealing the two buddies they were expecting. Mina was driving, with Yao-Momo in the passenger seat, clinging to the seat-belt.
"Wassup, besties! Are you ready to spend the rest of your night sobbing over a gut-punching movie?" Mina rested her forearm on the receded car window.
"What? A chick flick? Man..." Denki puffed up his cheeks.
"Shut up Denki! I was just messing with you guys." Mina scrunched her face to show her displeasure. "Obviously we're gonna watch a horror movie. Stained in blood , it's a documentary about Stain!"
Izuku and Ochaco looked at each other, and Ochaco's heart dropped. She wasn't the type to enjoy horror movies, not at all. By the looks of it, Izuku wasn't either. Unfortunately, they were both too shy to speak up and risk ruining the gang's fun.
