He was breathing heavily as he pulled his mask back up.
"Who are you?" He asked. He had a sort of raspy voice.
"Y/N." You put a finger on his sword and pushed it away. "Who are you then?" You asked standing up and grabbing your axe.
"Why do you care?" He said raising his voice slightly. "You came in here without asking!" He crossed his arms.
"Well I had a reason to!" You shot back. He just stood there arms crossed like a five year old.

"The names Dream" He mumbled. You shook your head grabbing the horse.
"Where is the war going?" You asked. He picked his head up. You didn't see his face so From his body posture he looked surprised.
"Oh so now you want to poke your nose into our things? What, did the king sent you or something?" He shot back with hearable attitude in his voice. You slipped the axe into its holder and straightened your posture.

"I'm only here to help. But if you won't tell me I'll find it myself" You said calmly.
His mask darted to you.
"Wait, are you really here to help?" He untwisted his arm and pulled his mask away from his face. "You are not here to collect report for the king?" He asked surprised. You shook your head and hovered a hand over the axe.

"I'm really not." You said. "I heard there was a war and I'm here to help take care about the ingured." You looked back at him. He looked like he just accused you of stealing. Arms crossed again. You turned away and started walking under the tunnel that -you assumed- where the nation was. In a couple steps you were met by a broken down staircase leading down into a huge hole.

You mapped out the place. People bringing bodies to their graves or into a white tent on the part where it wasn't destroyed. Your eyes catched Phil on the edge of the hole, head down, cap on the ground. You turned back around tying the horse up. You garbbed an Ender pearl and threw it to where the staircase should end. In no time you were running to see what happened to Phil. His wings were flared out and the feathers were messy.
"Phil!" You yelled still running towards him. He picked his head up looking over his shoulder. You slowed into a jog and then stopped fully next to him. You took half a step forward to look down. Under your weight little stones broke off and rolled into the hole.
"What are you doing here?" He asked with no emotions in his voice. You sat down. "You shouldn't be here" He said. You looked at him only to see a tear running down on his face.

"I want to help" you said and looked down. Never came an answer. You picked your head up and mapped out the hole. A little indent was on one of the walls. There was a sword laying on the ground with blood around it. As you layed eyes on the sword, chills ran down your spine and the hairs on the back of your neck stood up. You shot an eye at Phil again, tears running on his cheek. You trailed down from his head to his shoulder, then arm slowly laying an eye on his hands covered in blood.

"I killed him.." He said with a shaky curse under his breath. Your eyes widened as he turned to you. "I killed my own son.." He raised his voice slightly. He put his head in his hands and broke down. You wanted to help but you didn't know how. You never been in this situation before so you just stood up leaving him in his own thoughts and started to jog to the white tent with the people inside.

You helped a man put a person on a bed.
"Thanks, not like I couldn't do it myself or anything" You put a hand out for him to shake as he did you nodded politely. "Fundy, nice to meet you, uhm-"
"Y/N. Nice meeting you too" You said. You put your weapons down and made your way to a bed with a roll of gauze in your hand.

The day went fast, with running between patients and digging holes for graves. It also went by without you seeing Dream. It was sort of obvious that the town was his and he didn't want war but at least he could've helped. If you were honest your first impression of him wasn't shiny at all. He tried to kill you, as soon as you stepped on the wooden path of his. You wanted to make excuses why he didn't help, to make this journey better but lying on to yourself made the day of helping people even more stressed.

The sun was just hanging above the horizon, last of the people left with their families. You sat on one of the bed laying back on your elbows. You didn't know where you'll spend the night so that was a quest you needed to get to. You picked up your weapons, dropped a smile at Fundy and started to walk back to where you left the horse. You threw an Ender Pearl at the stairs and teleported up. You slipped and landed on your knees. But before you could fall down a hand grabbed your wrist pulling you back up. A familiar mask was in the other hand.

"Dream- Thank you" You said, he turned a heel and (still holding your wrist) walked you back to your horse. He just put his smile mask up and stood there arms crossed again, waiting for you to sit up. You sat up and started at him before he talked.
"Hurry up. We need to get home before the undead come." He said in a more calmer tone.
"Home? What do you mean?" You asked
"Ugh, whatever just follow me" He started to jog away from the tunnel and to the route that you came here on.

Not a long walk you stood Infront of Dreams house. It was humble, brick House with a small farm next to it.
"I'll take the horse" He said helping you off. You didn't think he was this of a gentleman. You took a look around, the sun was low, a few villagers walked past waving at you, the air was cold, making a shiver run on your spine. He walked back opening the door of the house and gesturing for you to go inside. You took a step in and the hot air of the fire hit your face. Dream sat on a chair taking his mask off and lying it in the floor. You took a seat in front of the fire and soon as the monotone crackle burned in your head you slowly fell asleep on a strangers couch you just met six hours ago.
