Weeks went by with the war and you and Dream growing closer. You got involved in the war more and helped repair the damage the fight made. In the span Phil blew up L'manburg even more with his son Technoblade. Phil and Techno got exiled by new president Tubbo. Phil's other son turned against Tubbo so he got exiled as well. The old president, Jschlatt, died in a heart attack and Techno is wanted for relesing two of the most dangerous creatures: Withers. All that wasn't enough you got the news that Laencaster was being attacked by a pillager horde. This month can't become worst.

You rode down the road and turned right to go to the house. It was new year's eve and it was as calm as it should be. You opened the door and threw your bag on the floor. The house was empty since Dream was hanging out with his friends. You were planning on setting up the fireworks until Dream was away so you could just enjoy some alone time with him. You liked Dream a lot, he was a really understanding and empathetic friend. He had a charm that made your days better.

You digged the fireworks wood part in the ground. The air didn't feel right but you didn't acknowledge. Like the feeling that this will be your last day here. You didn't wanted to think too much about it, you had these feelings a lot before. You completely brushed it away and digged the fireworks in the earth.

The sun was hanging low on the sky and you were pretty much finished with the setting up when you heard your name get called.
"Y/N! Hey, sorry I'm late." You turned around and Dream was standing there a dandelion in hand.
"Hey" You said."Who's that for?" You asked crossing your arms and smiling like an idiot.

"You!" He said stretching out his hand to give it to you.
"How thoughtful." You chuckled taking the delicate flower. Dream turned away slightly red and smiling.

It was time to light the fireworks, midnight was half an hour away and Dream was being more clingy than ever. He followed you by step and the feeling that it was your last day was back. It was sweet that he went around with you but yet again he never does that. You picked up the lighting steel and climbed back on top of the hill where the fireworks are. You sat down on the yellow grass looking at the bright stars. Dream sat next to you and sighed.
"It was a great year, wasn't it?" He said pulling his hood up.
"It was." You said. "And you're lucky that I wasn't collecting report for the king!" You joked. He hummed looking at the stars. He looked sad, he never looked sad. You just assumed that it was the tiredness of the long day but you were still concerned.
"What happened?" You asked turning to him.
"Nothing. Just tired." He said not taking his eyes off the sky.
"Clay don't lie." You said now in a serious tone. "Tell me what's going on. You're acting so weird!" You said now almost yelling. "Clay please, I'm worried."

"I'm okay." He said putting his hand on your shoulder. "Calm down please." He said turning away again. You took a deep breath and closed your eyes. 'Calm down' easier said than done. The nerves in your stomach tightened and a stress like pain settled in your system.
"It's almost midnight. I'm gonna light the fireworks." You said in a fake happy tone. It didn't feel right to calm down. Dream never acted like this. Ever. And now it's slowly driving you crazy. You brang the steel to the firework, lit the first one and ran back. It shot up in the sky and blew into a big red ball of flame. You lit the next one's and sat back down next to Dream as you watched the year fly away right here and now.
"Happy new year, Y/N." He said smiling.
"Happy new year, pissbaby." You said laying on your back.

You woke up to Dream dropping something on the floor. You picked up your head and saw him with your sword and axe in hand, trying to pick up the other sword he dropped.
"Morning. Sorry I woke you up." He said quickly picking up the weapon.
"What are you doing?" You asked sitting up. He didn't answer. "What are you packing my stuff for?" You repeated the question with no luck for an answer. You crawled out from the covers and turned Dream so he was facing you. "You're being weird again." You said. "Clay, what's going on?" You asked. You had no clue of what to do but questions was the best you could think of.

"I'm just cleaning them." He said fairly confused. You sat on the chair next to the table. Before you could say anything you heard knocking on the door.
"I'll get it." Dream said opening the door. Phil was standing there with a small bag thrown over his shoulder.
"Is she ready to go?" Phil asked.
"Uhm-"
"Clay what is going on?" You interrupted now standing behind Dream. You turned him to you and stared in his eyes. One breath or another an arrow digged in the ground in front of the house. Or three more. Slowly approaching was someone you never seen before. He had a creeper mask and golden armour. He was repeatedly shooting at the house and Dream was running around packing your stuff. Phil was cutting much arrows as he could. You didn't know who this was or why he was shooting at the house. But you were certain that he wanted Dream. You picked up your swords and ran past Phil cutting an arrow.

"Clay, what the fuck is going on?" You asked while running back in. He fully packed up your stuff and handed the bag and a bunch of arrows with your bow.
"You have to go." He said putting his hands on your shoulders. "Phil will take you." He said pulling you in a tight hug. The world around you turned muffled. You eyes started filling up with tears and the grip on your sword tightened. You quickly hugged back. It was clear now, Dream really didn't wanted you to get in danger. You pulled away from the hug and turned to Phil who was ready to get you out of here.

He picked you up and as soon as you made yourself comfortable he flew up and started flying away, back to your camp. The forest was like running under you and Phil. You started to slowly recognise the trees and you started to see the clearing. But most importantly smoke from the fire in the camp. Phil slowly started to get closer to the ground and landing in a fair second. He let go of you. The camp was not empty.

But it wasn't Aliyah who was in it either.
