Song for chapter 20 - "Freshman Boyfriend" by h3artcrush.

"Hey, aren't you supposed to go to school?" My mom asked me as I was still half asleep.

"What's the time?" I slurred.

"Almost 8," My mom replied.

"WHAT?! FU- fuuudge." I awkwardly smiled when my mom gave me a glare at me almost swearing in front of her. When she went out of the room, I dressed up at the speed of light and dashed out of the house. My mom yelled after me for not eating breakfast. I grabbed my bike and drove towards school.

I was doing better now, medically speaking, but not 100%, because my parents forced me to go to school because, apparently it wasn't that bad, I was "just whining".

I barely made it on time. I honestly couldn't have cared less about being late, but I hate when everyone's eyes are on me as I open the door to a classroom.

The first lesson was cancelled, due to everyone wanting to go outside as spring had brought in warmth. I just sat in the shade by a tree as everyone chatted. Everyone gave me a weird look once in every while, but I just ignored them and proceeded to get my food, because I hadn't eaten today. My mom would yell at me if she found out I didn't eat at least once.

I sat down in a corner of the cafeteria and ate in silence, until I saw Alyssa coming to my table. She seemed cheery.

"Hey, Y/N. Haven't seen you in a while. Are you alright now?" She sat down by me.

"Yeah, I'm holding up fine. It wasn't even that bad. How about you? What did I miss?"

"I'm good, was kind of boring without you, didn't have many people to talk to. I couldn't get to Richie. Also, Greta's boyfriend broke up with her and they kind of got into a mini physical fight and it ended up with her boyfriend landing face-first into a bin." Alyssa grinned.

"Ohoho, dude, come on! Why did I have to miss that! I swear, all the good shit happens when you're away from school." I slapped my hand on the desk and immediately regretted it, retracting my hand and subtly shaking it under the table out of pain.

I slammed my head quietly against the table in my French class as I had sat down. I felt the seat beside me move, which signaled Richie had also entered the classroom. I sighed, wanting nothing more than the feeling of being unconscious at the moment.

I felt something being slammed in front of me, but I couldn't be bothered enough to look up. However, that something had a voice. A very annoying voice, to be exact.

"Is it true you fainted?" Greta gave a big ol' mean smirk and gave a slight hand gesture, pretending to faint.

"Yeah, when I saw how hot your mom was for me last night." I winked at her and she shortly sputtered in anger.

"Okay, at least I'm not friends with a lesbian!" How did she know that? I shortly looked over at Alyssa, but quickly hid my panic.

"If you go off by rumours then I must admit, you have a pretty sad life. Is nobody honest to you? Well, since I'm kind, here's a truth - you look like an avocado, who had sex with another avocado, but they weren't having sex like usual, they were hate-fucking." Greta gave me the most weirdest look I've ever seen in my whole life, so I bursted out laughing. I heard Richie trying to hold his laughs beside me.

"What are you laughing at, Bucky beaver? You were the one to tell us." Greta tried getting through my skin. I knew she was lying, so I wasn't going to dramatically look at Richie, get mad at him and not talk to him for months like in those cliché fanfi-

"Well, do you have any proof?" I crossed my arms, leaning back in my chair.

"Yeah, I told the whole scho-"

"That isn't proof, Greta. It's rumours. Congratulations, you played yourself." I let out a loud laugh as she gave up on me and walked away.

I was about to lay my head back on the desk, but noticed Richie was more antsy than usual, so I turned to face him.

"You good?" I asked him.

"Yeah, yeah, I'm g-"

"We'll talk about this after school. I know you're lying and it's something important." I leaned in and whispered in his ear as the teacher began the lesson.

"Is there something you'd like to share to the class, Y/N and Richard?" The teacher glared at us. Apparently, we had been a second too late to end the conversation.

"No, if there was, I would let you know." I replied and gave the teacher a big grin. Sbe didn't even try saying anything back, she just scoffed and continued on with the lesson.

"After school." I silently reminded Richie again. I heard him sigh beside me. Jeez, talk about dramatic.

I zoned out as the teacher spoke about new words we have to learn.

"Richie, wait up!" I yelled out after Richie. He just sped up his pace of walking towards his bike. He almost made it, before I grabbed him by his wrist.

"We are going to talk about this." I sternly looked at Richie.

"No-"

"It's been, what, like weeks since you've started acting weird? You don't have an option, you'll have to talk about it with someone eventually." I let his wrist go, when I was sure he wouldn't try to escape this confrontation.

"No. You cannot just force someone to talk if it's none of your business."

"That...sounds awfully like what a criminal would say. Anyway, it seems like it might be my business, because you didn't seem to act so tense around anyone else."

"Goodbye!" He quickly got on his bike and sped off, me only able to react seconds later, because I was so dumbfounded, when he was already far enough away for me to not be able to catch him.

I slid my hands over my face and went over to my bike and just drove home. I couldn't help but worry over what had happened to make him be distant with me. We were best friends for years, did he finally get tired from me? I shook my thoughts away and kept driving, looking at the shitty, yet beautiful in it's own way, scenery.
