"sapnap i'm not in 'denial', you don't know what you're talking about"
he let out a short chuckle. "okay, tell me that in a week then"
"don't worry sapnap, i will" i said confidently.
sapnap and i continued talking for another few hours before he had to go. he tried mentioning clay and i. which was a subject i avoided.
like always, he mainly asked why i hung out with him so often now. i just replied with a basic answer saying, 'he's fun to hang out with.' sapnap took the answer probably trying to change the subject.
not long after sapnap and i hung up, clay and carter both made their way back downstairs.
they both looked annoyed with eachother. they were probably arguing over the project."do you want to come over tomorrow clay? or i can over to yours?" i heard carter ask.
"i can come over, no worries"
clay walked over to the door and opened it slightly. he turned back around to say bye before he left.
"bye carter! bye george!" he smiled.
"bye clay!" i replied back.
"ew, why does george get a goodbye?" carter asked.
"bye george!" clay repeated as he walked out the door.
"haha loser" i said looking back at carter. "shut up george" he replied.

it was now monday and i was in second period, meaning i had lunch next. sadly the class just started meaning i'd have to wait. thankfully though, this class went by fast.
eventually the bell rang meaning we could all go to lunch. everyone began to pack all of their things back into their bags before walking out the door. the halls crowded like always making it difficult to get to the cafeteria.
sapnap and i made our way over to the table at the same time. we both sat down, just as clay and carter made their way over.
"so, that bet huh?" sapnap spoke first.
"what about it?"
"you're that confident?" he asked. "george you are oblivious"
"sapnap what do you mean 'oblivious,' there's nothing to be oblivious about'"
except the constant kissing...
"okay george, you keep that thought"
"well," i paused. "you never answered me"
"no it's fine, you said there weren't any reasons" he replied with a wide grin on his face.
"you're a bitch sapnap. i hope you know that"
the smile on his face only grew wider. "i'm well aware george"
out of the corner of my eye i saw carter leave the cafeteria. i shrugged it off, guessing he was probably heading to the bathroom.
clay turned towards sapnap and i, bringing his attention to us. "hi clay" i spoke up first.
"hi george!" he responded. "what did carter say after i left yesterday?"
"not much. he just told me to shut up, seeing i called him a loser. why?"
"just asking"
"oooo why was clay over yesterday, george?" sapnap joined in.
