-george pov-

i was sitting down at my desk scrolling through twitter on my pc. a quiet knock coming from my door had caught my attention.

"come in" i shouted loud enough so they could hear me.

as the door opened i turned my chair towards it. seeing carter walk into my room. he walked over to my bed and sat down.

it was a normal thing for us. coming into each other's rooms and sitting down on the others bed to have a small chat.

"i have a question i need you to answer"

"go on"

"are you busy later?" he asked as he pulled his phone out of his back pocket. "in around five hours?"

"what time is it right now?"

"five thirteen" he answered.

"and why do you need to know if i'm busy around 10 o'clock at night?" i asked laughing. "and no, i'm not."

carter sat up from my bed and began walking towards the door. his smile clearly visible. "perfect," he replied. "and no reason. you're going somewhere with me."

"answer me"

he ignored my question. "be ready to leave at nine fifty"

before i could answer carter had already walked out of the door. i heard his door open and close faintly from inside of my room.

i let out a sigh as i turned my attention back towards my pc. i continued scrolling through twitter for another hour or so. a while later i shut down my pc

i headed towards my bed to scroll through tiktok. except i heard my parents call carter and i downstairs for dinner.

i got up and started walking towards my door. carter and i opened our doors at the same time. him giving me a slight smile. it looked like he was hiding something. which he was.

we both made our way downstairs and into the kitchen. carter followed me over to the table. everyone passed things around the table as we took turns putting things on our plates.

dinner was short and quiet. it wasn't necessarily an awkward silence, but it also was a comfortable one. everyone was sat down silently eating.

eventually everyone finished eating and cleaned off the table, putting all the dirty dishes in the sink. which my dad cleaned afterwards.

carter and i both went back upstairs into our rooms. i grabbed my phone and checked the time.

5:57pm

i sat back down at my desk and began to scroll through tiktok. which was the only thing i ever do. but you couldn't blame me. it's addicting.

i scrolled for awhile not focusing on anything else. right as a scrolled down to the next video i got a text message from carter.

carter
change of plans. start getting ready now, we're leaving in twenty minutes.

wtf do i wear?

just wear jeans or something.

okay

i looked at time before shutting my phone off. noticing it was almost 9pm my eyes widened.
i really did just scroll through tiktok for three hours.

i laughed as i made my way over to my closet and picked out a pair or black jeans. along with a basic white t-shirt.

i changed into my new clothes and threw my old ones somewhere into my closet.

i walked across the room and picked out a pair of black converse to wear.

once i was done getting ready i walked out of my room over to carter's door. i knocked incase he was changing, which he wasn't.

he was sat down on his bed putting on a pair of black vans. he was wearing a pair of blue jeans with a dark blue shirt.

"we'll leave in a second, hold on" carter said as he walked over to his desk to grab his keys and phone.

"do we have to sneak out?" i asked carter.

"yeah. we can go out your window"

we both made our way back into my room and began climbing out the window. we both got down and made our way into carter's car.

i pulled my phone out of my pocket and began to scroll through my notification box. there wasn't anything too interesting so i decided to go on my phone throughout the car ride.

i felt the car come to a stop about ten minutes later. i shut my phone off and looked up. we were parked on the side of a road next to a house. i looked over at the house then it hit me.

he brought me to another party.

"carter, why didn't you just ask me to go to a party with you?"

"because there's no fun in that, right?"

"yeah yeah, whatever," i replied. "but the last time you brought me to a party you went and did your own thing and i was bored the entire time."

"fine. that won't happen this time."

as we both got out of the car i checked the time one final time.

9:42pm

we both walked up to the front door and walked in. the smell of alcohol scattered throughout the air.

i felt someone grab my shoulder causing me to immediately turn around. it was clay.

"carter you didn't tell me george was coming?" he said letting go of my shoulder.

"he never told me you were coming either." i laughed.

"shit really? i thought i texted you, clay" carter laughed back.

"no i never got a text from you" he said checking his phone. he then shut it off seconds later.

all of us forgetting about it, we continued walking into the house to get out of the doorway.

of course, moments later carter was no where to be seen. which left only clay and i. together.
