"Are you boys ready to see our new home?"

Gabriel smiled brightly and met my gaze "yes mommy, I can't believe we're gonna have a pool!"

I smiled at the enthusiasm and turned to my youngest son, Bellamy "mom can i see my new room?"

I nodded and appreciated that both boys were just as eager as I was.

I hopped out of the vehicle and helped my youngest son with his seatbelt before placing him on my hip, while Gabriel ran to the door, pulling at the locked door, waiting not so patiently for me to come over and unlock it. I noticed a woman with short brown hair staring not so subtly at my family. I attempted to wave but with Bellamy on my hip, and my keys and bag in my other hand, it proved challenging. She smiled and waved back though, giggling at my antics. God even from this far she's clearly gorgeous.

The past weekend my parents and two younger sisters have been helping me move in and now all the rooms are practically ready and set up, apart from the odd boxes in some corners. I helped the boys settle in and we cooked dinner in the new kitchen. I was exhausted so I just made some spaghetti and a salad to go with it. The boys love to help so I got them to help out with dinner and connected my phone to the speaker to play some music.

I was dancing with Bellamy on my hip and stopped when I noticed our kitchen can see directly into this mysterious women's kitchen too. Clearly the brunette realized first as I saw her standing and waving with a smile, laughing to herself. God, that's embarrassing. I wave back and attempt to smile to cover my embarrassment, and turn the music down a bit as the food will be done shortly anyways. The boys help set the new dining room table and shortly after we eat. After dinner we get ready for bed as I tuck them in the covers in their assigned bedrooms.

Once the boys were asleep I went out to the front porch for a much needed cigarette. I've smoked since law school, the stress of it pushed me to try one of those cancer sticks and I've had the habit on and off ever since. This was something Matt and I constantly argued about too but he's not here anymore and he's in no position to criticize me anyways. I provided for that ungrateful and immature man for over a decade and all I got in return was having to deal with his outbursts and doubts for not having a career. As I said, I never minded being the supporter in the family. All I wished to have in return would be a loving husband and father. Instead he'd complain about how the kids asked for me during the day instead of being grateful to be with their dad. Only Matt could resent kids, his own kids, for something so ridiculous. I flicked the lighter to light my cigarette and inhaled deeply.

I noticed the brunette sitting on her porch too, with a book in hand, smiling and waving again. I waved and made my way over to introduce myself after putting out my cigarette.

"Hi there, I figured I should introduce myself after seeing you so many times today haha. I'm Y/N".

The mystifying women looked up from her book, her warm and inviting brown eyes meeting my gaze. "Hi Y/N, I loved those moves I saw in your kitchen... "

I rolled my eyes and felt myself blush unwillingly... "Anyways I'm Ally, it's nice to meet you."

I couldn't hep the smile that tugged at my lips as I heard her kind voice for the first time "Likewise. How long have you lived in the neighbourhood Ally"?

Ally contemplated for a moment before settling with her answer "oh gosh a while, ever since my son was a baby."

I smiled and tilted my head slightly "oh I didn't realize you had a son. Do you have any other kids"?

Ally shook her head "nope, just me and him honey." Honey, huh? That made me blush even more. God I get flustered easily. Ally continues "I saw your 2 boys, they're awfully cute. Do you have a partner too?"

It's now my turn to shake my head "um, no. It's just the three of us. Came here for a fresh start, you know"?

Ally is quick to nod in agreement "I completely understand. My son Oz is probably around the same age as your older son. He's 9, how old are your boys"?

"My oldest is Gabriel, he's 8. Bellamy is the little one, he's 4. I'm sure they'd love to meet Oz sometime, especially Gabriel. Does Oz go to North view public school? That's where I registered the boys, since it's just a couple blocks away."

Ally's face is quick to light up at the familiarity of the school name "he does! So I'm sure we'll be seeing more of each other" she then winked. I blushed again and smiled back.

"That sounds perfect, I'm looking forward to getting to know you more. Anyways I should go back and make sure the boys haven't woken up. Goodnight Ally."

Ally offers me a quaint smile "goodnight sweetheart." Sweetheart? Oh my God.

I make my way back to my door to go inside, waving to Ally once more before I walk in. I check on the boys, both who are still sound asleep and looking quite comfortable in their new rooms. I wash my face and brush my teeth before changing and getting into bed. I couldn't help but think of my new beautiful neighbour as I drifted to sleep, a smile present on my features.
