Reader's pov

'You mean that crazy fanboy? Maybe in the security room-' Before the staff finish, Beomgyu storms out of the room, rushing and jumping off the stairs to the basement.

Still panting, he catches the sight of a boy sobbing, surrounded by sturdy guards who look intimidating.

The guards are speaking while Taehyun curling himself into a ball, shivering silently at the corner.

'What are you doing to him?' The older interrupts, the guards turn to him as they recognize Beomgyu the rock star from the band.

'We want to help but he doesn't talk.' One of the guards throw hands, Taehyun's mental status is not very stable after being captured. The guards ask him about his parents and his personal information, he just cries and maintains distance with them.

Even a sassy merman like him is scared of the situation, especially when the guard's questions make him realize he left everything to come alone.

That was impulsive,a foolish act. He has no companion or a place to stay, can he survive this human world just by the knowledge from books?

'He's my friend, please let me take care of him.' Beomgyu assures the guards so they leave some space for them.

'Taehyun? It's me Beomgyu. It's okay, no one is gonna hurt you.' He whispers to Taehyun in the softest tone.

Taehyun peeks out his head from his knees, astounded to find that his favorite human is smiling at him. Beomgyu pulls him into a hug, stroking the younger's back affectionately.

The older has a lot of doubts but he will figure it out one by one he guesses.

'How did yo-'

'Magic.' Taehyun responses quickly, still rubbing his swollen eyes.

Beomgyu doesn't feel very surprised since the merman has cured him twice by magic.

'Why-' It is Beomgyu's greatest concern that why would a merman appear in a human world.

'You said it...you want me to sing a song for you...' Taehyun states calmly between the quiet sobs, his ears are slightly red, is it because of the cry or something else, only he knows.

Did he come all the way to here just for me?

Merely staggered by his words, Beomgyu remembers something crucial.

'Oh sh*t- the application deadline is tonight. Would you like to join our audition and become our singer!?' This invitation is totally out of their mind, both of them thought.

It only shows that Beomgyu's life is all about music and Taehyun is a gem in his eyes.

'Yes!' His mood elevated by hope, Taehyun refrains himself from crying. As he stands up from the chair, Beomgyu notices the younger now in his legs is a bit shorter than him, he looks petite in the loosen shirt. The older can't find a better word than 'adorable' to describe him.

Suddenly Taehyun flumps back to the seat, hisses while massaging his knees. Beomgyu anxiously rolls up the hems of his pants, both sides of his knees are bruising.

Taehyun did get hurt at his first attempt to walk on his legs but he didn't care much because finding Beomgyu is all that matters, once he kicks back, the pain works on him again.

'This looks awful...I should take you to the nurse office.' Beomgyu sympathizes.

'But the audition...' Taehyun objects which put them into a dilemma.
