Reader's POV

Later as sun rises, Beomgyu alone was picked up by the rescue team as Soobin couldn't hold his urge to call the cops. However, Taehyun was nowhere to be found. According to Beomgyu's statement at the police station, the younger 'accidentally' got carried by the waves. (Assume Taehyun doesn't have any relatives here besides Beomgyu)

The group couldn't blame Beomgyu since the guilt was among themselves. Yeonjun and Hueningkai felt regretful, the aftermath of their sh*tty little fight was totally out of control. They could only pray for his safety and hope the search team bring them good news.

Back to present, the band is allowed to be off from work since they are emotionally unstable after the incident, especially for Beomgyu, who has been crying in blankets for one whole day, refuses to leave his room.

His bandmates observe him from the door gap, brows furrowing.

'Let me talk to him.' Others nod at Yeonjun, the oldest knocks on the door.

'Gyu, want some gummy bears?'

Receiving zero reaction from the said male, Yeonjun enters the room on his own, sitting on the mattress next to the lump of blanket ball.

'Hey,' Yeonjun pats the younger, his presence being ignored again. At this point, he decided to spill his suspicion. 'Is there something you're keeping from us? I have seen you make out with the merman in the bathroo-'

'We're not making out!' Beomgyu peeks out instantly as he throws a whine.

'So you admit the merman part. Oh damn- don't tell me he's the 'mermaid' you talked about-' Yeonjun states calmly as he recalls what the younger said after surviving the storm at their cruise party, and the way Beomgyu was always smiling like an idiot when he wrote his song.

'If I tell you he is... Wait- Did you tell the others too?' Beomgyu asks nervously.

'Nope, not even Soobin. Everyone has their secret, I understand. Tell me who Taehyun really is, I will keep it between us.'

'He never told me much about his life. He's a prince and he's alone. I remember he hates his relatives because they want him to marry a stranger. The day we had our last college live, he suddenly came to me with a pair of legs...' He reminisces the crazy day with a bitter smile, not after long, his smile fades, 'Yesterday I saw a mermaid captured him.'

'Mermaids...you brought a merman into our band?' Yeonjun raises a brow.

'I thought everything's gonna go well!' Beomgyu pouts his lips avoiding the other's gaze.

'He's not from our world, there's not much we can do then. Let's hope he'll be back soon.' Yeonjun gives the bear a warm hug and the younger weeps quietly on his chest, 'It's okay, hyung is here.' Speaking softly, the older ruffles his hair affectionately.

Beomgyu wonders why Yeonjun isn't freaking out at any of the information, nor questioning him for more, but he's in fatigue, he buries those doubts at first.

Another cloudy day passed, there's no sign of the merman. The company ask the band to come as they are ought to talk about amendments in their schedule, the company may delay their debut due to their lost member.
