10: First Day

Beomgyu's pov

My brain is still processing.

Taehyun is on my bed right next to me

-and WHY THE FUCK MY HEART IS BEATING SO FAST??

'It's uncomfortable to sleep on the couch, plus, I want to start the day with you.' He is still lying beside me lazily as he grins in content, not breaking the eye contact. That smile is genuine, his answer is straightforward too... too much for my liking!

Oh gosh, how long had he been staring at me, that's kindacreepy though. Yesterday he was crying like a little baby, now he's blunt huhh?

'Your knees okay?' I clear my throat.

See, I am calm as f*k.

'Thanks, I feel a lot better. It's amazing to stand on these feet.' Taehyun strokes his thighs under the blanket before he uncovers himself and rises blithely-

'AWWWWW OMFG WHERE'S YOUR PANTS!!' I can't help bursting in satoori because Taehyun is STARK NAKED. The carefree merman stretches his arms up with a yawn.

My cheeks are heating up to the gorgeous view so I slip inside the blanket.

'I don't quite like clothings, they are tickling.' Taehyun replies a matter of fact, not a big deal for him. That make sense since marine creatures never need wearables.

'NO ONE ASKS FOR YOUR LIKINGS, NEVER LET PEOPLE SEE YOU LIKE THIS! YOU UNDERSTAND??' I am ready to educate him so that he won't walk on street without clothes, what if people report him to the cops...

I try not to look at his naked figure, making my way to the closet. I pick out two sets of plain shirt and pants, tossing one set to his face. Probably annoyed by my grumbles, he put on the clothes unwillingly.

'You know how to...erm...use the toilet?' In hope I ask him, god please don't make me tutor him on this.

'I guess it's alright.' He proceeds to the bathroom while I go to the kitchen, unfortunately there is nothing left in the fridge which means we have to dine out.

A peaceful silence lasted a minute until a baby scream takes up the house.

'What is it?' I rush to the bathroom and knock on the door, my heart dropped a beat.

'HOT!' Taehyun reveals himself, tears escaping from his doe eyes as he opens his palms, showing me his hands burnt in red. Water is still pouring into the sink with vapours suspended in the air.

'The red knob is for hot water, use the blue one for cold water, you get it?' He nods obediently, still rubbing his hands in pain with a pout on his face. I grab his hands to bath under cold running water.

Ehh why did I sign up for this?

I sigh mentally.

A week ago, I met a merman. Now he's living in my house, what kind of kdrama is this?

Finally both us leave the house, we have breakfast in a small café nearby.

I finished my meal but Taehyun is still struggling to put the whole slice of pancake into his mouth, which he obviously fails.

At this moment, I have accepted my fate to raise this 3-year-old kid.
