I'm not ready to die, especially not by the hand of this creature.
While I was trying to pull Tom away from the monster, he growled in pain.
The woman-spider like creature was still running toward me, I let go of Tom and started running in the opposite direction.
If I can't save him at least, I can be a bait for this monstrous thing so he can gain consciousness and escape.
"Now you show your true colours, you filthy human!" the monster following me shouted while evilly laughing.
I hope that Tom can come to his senses and run away.
I got around the corner and hid behind a black sports car.
"I can smell your fear, human! Come out so I can finally kill you, and he can be mine! Forever and after mine!" the monster shouted while running past me.
When I couldn't hear her steps anymore, I peeked above the car. The air was clean and I slowly walked from behind the car toward Tom.
When I arrived, Tom was still lying lifeless on the floor. I was about to touch him to check if he's still alive when something pulled me away.
"Here you are human! I feel like I'm going to puke just from touching you. I'm going to kill you, slowly and painfully!"
The monster started evilly laughing and saliva started drooling from her mouth. When she stopped laughing, she eyed me from head to toe and grinned: "I should just break your neck."
I started struggling when she gripped me tighter around my neck and I started losing feeling myself drifting away.
I closed my eyes waiting for my last moments of life. Before I lost consciousness I felt the hard ground when my body hit the floor.
When I opened my eyes I saw Tom holding the monster a couple of inches from the floor. I tried to stand up, but my body wouldn't move.
Tom let the monster go and approached me. His upper body was covered in what looked like tribal tattoos, his horns were bigger than before, and his canine teeth were longer and pointer.
"Are you okay?" he asked with a deeper and huskier voice. He cupped my cheek and looked into my eyes gently and warmly: "Hey, don't worry. I know I don't look the same, but it's still me, Tom."
Tom picked me up bridal style and started walking toward the elevator. I wrapped my arms around his neck, the warmth of his body made me feel safe.
"Wait, baby, where are you going?"
Tom turned around and looked down mercilessly at the spider-women-like creature.
"I, Tommasso Lucio Cacciaguerra the king of the dark breed, am here to cast you and your people from the protection and privileges of the crown. Almira Bethrona junior you are no longer the queen of the spider clan. You have ten days to move from the realm of the dark breeds if not your whole clan, will be executed on the spot."
The creature started kissing Tom's feet and pleading: "Please your, majesty let me pay off my mistake any way you see fit, have mercy on my people, please."
He kicked her and spoke with a calm yet deadly voice: "You expect that a simple punishment will be enough after you attacked her."
The monster got on her knees, and shouted: "She's just a dumb human! Why can't you be with me? We were happy. Me your little vixen and you, my powerful raven."
Tom shouted back at her: "I'm not yours anymore. She's my bride and I'm her groom! Get that into your thick spider skull!"
"Tom please let me be yours again," she shouted while crawling closer to us.
Tom stepped back and spoke calmly: "I don't have mercy for people that attack my loved one."
The monster growled in anger and rose: "How can you be this sweet with her!? Why couldn't you stay mine!?"
Tom looked down at her and spoke with a dominant voice: "You were only taking advantage of my position as the king! Now scam, before I execute you right here right now!"
The creature approached us when he turned toward the elevator: "Tom! Why!"
Tom spoke so that only I could hear: "Please for once be a good girl and listen to your elders. Cover your ears and close your eyes. Don't open them until I give you the signal."
I did as he said and shrugged in his embrace.
He moved me into his left hand and held me tight. When he turned I could hear a muffled scream. I didn't dare to open my eyes.
Tom patted my head and I opened my eyes to see his warm fiery red eyes.
"I'm sorry you had to go through this. I didn't protect you well enough. I'm sorry."
We were in the elevator moving up.
"Tom, it's not your fault," I replied.
He heavily sighed and caressed my cheek: "I want you to feel safe around me. This means protecting you from creatures like her."
"Don't stress about it and press for the fourth floor," I replied while giving him a warm smile.
"I need to stress about it because you are ... nevermind."
Tom pressed the button and we stayed quiet until the door of the elevator opened.
Before we walked out he bent and grabbed his bag from the floor and asked: "Care to tell me the number of your apartment."
"Put me down first," I replied.
He put me down and I slowly walked down the hallway to my apartment. I put the key into the slit and turned it to unlock the door.
I stepped inside and turned around to face Tom.
"Are you going to let me in or just look at me?" he asked.
Tom just smiled at me and lightly pushed me into the apartment. He closed the door and started taking off his shoes.
"Aren't you going home?" I asked.
He looked up at me and spoke: "I have to protect you since you signed the contract. The breed of your boss won't even touch you until you marry him. But my breed on the contrary, as you see, would like to see you dead before you take a step into my castle."
