"Did you find her?" Asked Kaz as he limped towards us with Inej following behind.

"Out of sight boss." Jesper huffed while placing a hand on his pistol and glancing around us.

Kaz grunted in frustration before straightening his neck and exhaling slowly all while staring at me aggressively. His stare was as piercing as bright sunlight beaming through windows in the early morning. His hands on his cane and his chin up, he examined my every move, every expression. Clearly, he was thinking of our argument only hours ago after I killed one of my own. Nocking out a Grisha was something but killing one was something totally different. Especially to save the life of a bastard from Ketterdam.

"I need a drink," Kaz exclaimed while reverting his eyes to Jesper.
All of my focus was on the thought of Alina and her blessing that I didn't notice Kaz and Jesper leaving for a bar down the street.

"(Y/N)?" Spoke Inej as she came into view.
"Aren't you going with them?"

"I'll catch up," I answered briefly before walking towards the area Jesper and I left Alina.

I stood in the exact place I last saw Alina with my hands in my pockets to keep warmth as I surveyed my surroundings for any signs of the Sun Summoner. Alina Starkov was nowhere to be seen from where I stood in the middle of a market with chattering individuals all around.
Where could she have gone? I thought while frowning.

"Girl!" Shouted a woman from behind.
"Did you take my rug?"

"No ma'am, I was just passing..."

"I turn around for one second and you steal from a poor woman like me?" She shouted as people started to peer at us.

"Stealing?" A younger woman whispered to her husband from beside me.

"It's a thief!" Another shouted.

"I want that bracelet in return." Demanded the woman as soon as I pulled my hands out of my pockets.

"No, I won't give you my bracelet," I exclaimed as I backed away from the woman and the people now surrounding her.

"Looks like a valuable one." A man exclaimed.

"Listen I don't want any trouble, I didn't steal anything."

"Thief!" The woman shouted causing me to back away as far as possible with my hands raised at the height of my shoulders.

"We don't want to see you around these streets again."

"Alright, alright," I spoke as I descended the first few steps of a narrow staircase.
"You won't ever see me again."

When they all went back to their occupations I continued down the narrow stairs until I reached a small corridor leading straight to a street. I glanced back up the stairs to make sure no one was following me throw the village. When I turned my head back around my eyes widened in surprise when Alina came into view.

"Alina I was just-"

"Don't give me away, please." She lowered her voice through her sentence. I stared at her with gapped open lips and wide eyes as she looked around for any signs of the rest of us. When I didn't answer her she alighted a spark of light in between her fingers as a threat.

"I won't tell anyone. I just want to talk."
I explained as she lowered her hand.

"I thought you died when we crossed the fold together." She spoke as I examined her facial expressions with my eyes.

"So did I." I giggled.

"What did you want to talk about?" Alina asked after a brief moment of silence.
