•Thea's POV•
Foolish little girl. My conscious spat. He didn't save you because he loved you. You must learn that there is a difference between hand holding and falling in love. You must learn that kisses don't really mean something. Finally, you must learn that promises can be broken as quickly as they are made, and that goodbyes are forever.I knew this was all true. Every last bit of whatever my conscious spat was true.
"Were here." Daryl grunted. We were placed in front of the most gorges cabin id ever seen. The wooden logs stacked up to the tip of the roofs. Smoke beamed from the chimney. It was beautiful madness. Daryl and Carl started to lead me towards the house and I finally have the guts to say,
"H-how many people are h-here?."
"About 10." Daryl huffed. I sighed quietly and hung my head low. The door of the cabin creaked as Daryl allowed me in, shoving me in front of everyone else. I immediately felt all eyes burn on my body. I felt a figure step in front of me.
"Stop staring." It growled violently.
Carl.
They all went back to chattering amongst themselves until a man who resembled an older version of Carl came forward.
"Who is this?" He asked rudely.
"Thea." Daryl sighed frustrated.
"Why is she here?"
"Because. She's my age out in the world alone. What if that was me?" Carl huffed.
"But it isn't you. Now Thea, I'll give you tonight. Get you water, food. Maybe even some clothes. Yeah?" He asked. I hesitated.
"Understood."
"Your out of here by morn-"
"Dad!" Carl whined. "Give her.... give her a week. Please?" He begged.
Why is he trying to save my ass?
"Carl she could be dang-"
"Dad she's fucking fourteen." Carl retorted.
I gasped at the way Carl used his words. With his father too? No... it was unbearable.
"Sir, you really don't have to let me stay." I shakily responded to his angry attitude.
"She doesn't even want to st-"
"She's doing this because she's scared of you dad. Give her a chance for Christ sakes!"
"Fine." Rick spat after a while. "A week. That's it." he said and I nodded in understandment. "Carl, show her to her room." Rick said eyeing me with disgust. Carl simply rolled his eyes and lead me up the stairs.
