The Birthday Party: Compliment
Friday came like a snapped of a finger. And you know what does it mean? It's my doom day.
I was sitting comfortably in a bench at the courtyard, sipping my water with a slice of lemon on it. I've been staying here for a while, not knowing what to do exactly. Because I am all alone, I thought staying here was a good idea.
Hindi ko kasama sina TJ and Yam. TJ is not here because of the preparation for the party later, while Yam is gone for unknown reason. Probably because of the party too but she didn't tell me anything. Basta sinabi niya maghintay lang ako rito, so I did. And Chaeyoung? Well, she is working.
May iniwan naman silang magbabantay sa akin dito, and they're a lot. In my count, about twenty. Pinapalibutan nila ako rito at kanina ko pa napapansin na iniiwasan nila ako ng tingin o di kaya ay kumausap man lang sa akin, hindi kagaya sa mga nagbabantay sa akin noon. I don't mind, nahihiya rin naman ako kumausap sa kanila.
"Mina!"
I heard someone called my name, while prolonging the 'na' in my name. I chuckled when I recognize that voice. She is so loud even from afar.
Lumingon ako sa lugar kung saan ko siya narinig. There, I saw Yam running towards me while holding a lot of paper bags with her hands. Not minding how heavy would it be even if her heels are still on. Nahirapan tuloy ako sa situwasyon niya.
But she looks alluring with her salmon shirtwaist dress paired with plain white two inches heel sandal. Usually I would see her with her ponytail, but now her hair is on flat waves hairstyle. I believe she went to salon because of her look today.
However, she is not alone. I saw her with three people behind her. May mga bitbit ito na malalaking box.
Tumayo ako sa kina-uupuan ko upang salubongin ko siya.
