Jeongyeon woke up by loud knocks from the door and there she realized that it was all just a dream. His kiss, his words, his tears and him being there with her were all part of her illusions.
"I am crazy!" she rubs her eyes as she stood to walk to the door. She opened it and a glaring Jimin welcomes her.
"What?" she asked cluelessly.
"I've been knocking on your door for minutes already," he paused taking a deep breath and continued, "The Chairman invited us to participate in an auction event later. Did you bring a formal dress with you?"
"No. I didn't bring one. Just corporate and casual attires."
"Arasseo, let's shop for one."
"What?"
"Are you deaf?"
"I mean..." before she could finish her sentence, he pulls him out of her room bringing with him her key.
He is holding her hand so tight until they ride the taxi to Lotte Duty Free. It will take them thirty minutes from Seogwipo to Yeon-dong. It will be a long ride and Jeongyeon felt like the time slowed more as his hand is still holding hers. It discomforts her but she doesn't want to let go. All of a sudden, he talked and she was startled.
"Is it okay?"
She shyly looks at him, "What do you mean?"
He looks at his hand holding her.
"Um..." she swallowed a lump and smiled uneasily.
"It discomforts you? I am sorry," Jimin finally released her. She wanted to protest and hold his hand once again but her gut is too weak in his presence.
"I am sorry about awhile ago. I am sorry if I said words that hurt you. I didn't mean those. Maybe I am just so protective of you because I can see my late wife in you. Maybe I just missed her so bad, no, I really miss her," he said with his sincere soft voice and gave her a closed smile.
Jeongyeon couldn't help but to look at his eyes... Loneliness, she can see loneliness in those pair of hazel brown eyes and she thinks, "He must have really loved his wife. What a lucky woman she is."
She doesn't know if holding his hand would give him comfort but she took all the courage in her and grabs it telling him, "It's okay Sir."
She inserts her fingers in between his and smiled. She saw him blush as his eyes finally smile with his mouth. It was too much for her to take so she adverted. She looks out the window on her side and the reflection of her red cheek is slightly visible on the glass.
"Can we not treat each other as work mates, just for awhile?" he asked squeezing her hand.
Jeongyeon bit her lip as she looks at him again, "What do you mean Sir?""Drop the formality. Call me by my name, Jimin. I believe it's not hard to pronounce, right?"
"It's awkward," Jeongyeon shook her head chuckling.
"Well this is awkward," he pouts at their intertwined hands widening his eyes a bit with a smile escaping his lips.
Jeongyeon was mesmerized by his lips. She completely zoned out remembering her dream where she was kissing him with hunger. It felt so real, she wished it was but her day dream was cut off with his snap, "Jeongyeon?" Jimin creased his forehead. She came back to life, a bit startled, "Ne? Yes Sir?"
"Nothing," he said releasing her hand with his smile fading away. He then fixed himself on his seat and leaned closer to the car door, looking out the window to contemplate. 'This is wrong,' he silently thought feeling guilty 'cause it feels like he is cheating on his deceased wife. He is not planning to replace her but Jeongyeon's aura is too strong and hard to resist.
