Jeongyeon woke up in her room with a terrible headache. She wonders how did she manage to get home since she was very drunk from last night. She was trying to recall things but she can barely remember what really happened.
"Did I talk to Jimin?" she asks herself but the last thing she can recall is that he was with a woman. "Impossible," she mumbled as she massaged her head. Suddenly, Miyeon, her mother, entered her room with a tray of breakfast meal.
"How are you feeling my love?" she asks her.
Jeongyeon sat up so fast, "What are you doing? You should rest Omma."
"Aigoo, if you care about me, you shouldn't have drowned yourself in alcohol," Miyeon said and puts the tray of food on the side table.
Jeongyeon looked down, "I just needed to unwind, Omma."
Her mother took a deep breath while staring at her with concern. There was silence and after a moment, Miyeon sat on her daughter's bed and squeezed her leg. Jeongyeon can't help it, her tears start to cascade, "Omma, I am scared to lose you."
Miyeon moved closer to her and cupped her face, "Darling, everything has an end. We cannot stop our fate."
"But I don't want to lose you," Jeongyeon cries.
Miyeon can feel her tears coming as it pains her to know that her daughter suffers too. But she's good at controlling her tears, besides, weeping in front of her daughter isn't going to help her. She knows she needed to act strong, so she wiped Jeongyeon's tears and told her, "My darling, I love you and I am sure you know that. Even if we don't want to, life has a boundary. I learned about my cancer three months ago and I didn't tell you and Hoon Joon because I don't want to distract you two since you were preparing for the election. It was so hard for me to accept that I am sick at first but as time went by, I am learning to concede my fate. As what they say, as long as you live, life goes on. Why can't we just treasure the time that we have right now my dear?"
"But Omma..."
"Sshhh, everything happens for a reason..." Miyeon kissed her daughter's forehead. "Anyway, your meal is getting cold. You should eat."
"I don't have the appetite," Jeongyeon sniffs.
"Aigoo, eat. You know that it's bad to waste food, right?" Miyeon glares at Jeongyeon. She stood and got the tray again, carefully putting it on her daughter's lap.
"This is just French onion soup with baguette and butter. You need this for your hangover," Miyeon informs her and continued, "Do you know who brought you home last night?"
"You and Appa?"
"Aish, that's why you must not drink too much, you forget things!" Miyeon reprimands.
"Who then?"
"Jimin."
Jeongyeon was wide-eyed as she hears his name.
"I was calling you and, a man's voice answered my call and I was shocked when I learned that it's him. He said that you drank about eight bottles of soju in his restaurant. He asked me if he can bring you here and I said yes so he drove you home. Unfortunately, as soon as he puts you down on the couch, your Appa went out from our room and saw him. Without thinking, he punched Jimin on the face. It was too strong that it made his cheek bleed."
