Jane had...matured. Her voice had definatley lost the perkiness and was now more adult-like. She still used her teenage vocabulary, but her voice made it sound like she was joking - which I could not tell if she was or not.

"I can't believe you were one of the faces on Fashion week." Jane looked up at me in awe, like a child meeting their favourite disney princess. Jane continued to talk about her love for fashion and how she watched me on t.v.

Henry smiled at us from across the room with my mother. He seemed glad to see that we were bonding again. Earlier, he had mentioned that he missed me. How could a man that barely knows me miss me? And that was when my mother explained to me since Henry accepted her into his life, he's accepted me as his daughter, too.

Even though the relationship with father had been mended, it felt nice that someone who cared for my mother also cared for me.

We ate dinner that night at the table, not a moment was quiet or awkward. My mother drank water instead of wine and her eyes sparkled instead of bloodshot. So much has changed here, it felt like I was in a whole new world.

I slept in my old room, after I told my mother I would just get a hotel, but she said I would be crazy to. It was still baby pink, but the bed frame had changed and the mattress wasn't as comfy as it used to be.

I looked out the window, the tree occasionally brushed the window from the light breeze.

I rolled onto my back, my head seemed to be spinning from all the new information brought into my brain in such a short amount of time.

Everyone had moved on. A new chapter had begun ever since I've left. It keeps hitting me harder every time I realize that nothing pauses just because I leave.

Mollie...my best friend is engaged.

My mother...a woman you would never guess that she was an alcoholic.

& me...Wanting to grow stronger everyday.

Time has gone by faster than my head can process.

-

I woke up earlier than I usually do, only to walk downstairs to see my mom taking a kettle off the stove.

"Hey." I said quietly, catching her attention.

She turned and smiled. "Good morning. Would you like some tea?"

I nodded and sat in a chair. Some thing was missing - I just couldn't put my finger on it.

My eyes widened. "Where's Kate?"

Mother placed a tea bag in a glass. "She doesn't work full time anymore, only if I'm having a big event or people are coming over." She stirred the water with the bag, "I don't mind making something for myself...and since It's only me living here now, I don't really need her here all the time."

I nodded. My mother suggested that we drank our tea on the back porch that Henry installed last year.

I missed this view. Hills continued to the horizon where the sun dipped when night began. The sky only showed water-colored orange and yellows, since the sun had still not fully risen.

A slight wind picked up as we sat in silence, looking out over England's land.

"Tell me about your boyfriend." My mother rocked in her chair lightly. "Lucas?"

I laughed. "Liam."

I sat back in my chair. I could go on for days about Liam.

I shook my head. "He's...I don't even know where to start."
