I gawked at the new rock on my ring finger. I can't believe he proposed.
"I can't believe you're engaged!" My mother took y hand into her own to look at the ring. "It's so beautiful, I was so happy when Liam asked me. You've foun the one, Monica." My mother gushed.
I turned to Liam, he was to my right with his arm over my shoulders. "You asked her?" I asked.
He nodded. "When you went to the mall the other day, I stayed behind to ask her." He kissed my forehead. "Asked your father a couple weeks back, as well."
I leaned up to kiss him. "I love you." I whispered.
Harry cleared his throat from across the room. I looked over to see him glaring, but it was barely noticable. He was making eye contact with me, like he was the entire night, but this time he didn't look away when mine met his gaze.
I raise an eyebrow, my well know way of saying 'What the fuck do you want?'.
Harry just sipped his drink while Jane sat next to him talking to a random person.
You could see that they weren't in love. Harry and Jane might think that they are in love because they're engaged, but their body language around each other was jsut...awkward. For Harry, at least.
Love is something a blind man can see and something the deaf can hear. It's the world's most powerful force...it can start wars and end them...make things right and wrong...bring people together and tear them apart. Love is so bipolar, but it can be so right.
Harry and Jane's? Well, let's just say that their's is starting wars, making things wrong, and tearing people apart.
Hear that baby crying in the distance? Harry and Jane is the reason.
I looked away from Harry. He can't bother me anymore. He is an adult, as I am too. We both need to grow up and let go of whatever we had when I was 18 and he was 24.
Our exterier gives the illusion that we have moved on. I thought Harry actually did, but I'm not that stupid. And for me...I'm still trying to convince myself that has has moved on and that I should, too. I never thought it would this difficult.
"I'll be right back." I set my drink down on a table and stepped out of Liam's arm.
"Where are you going?" He asked.
"Just to the bathroom." I smiled and walked around, trying to figure out where my destination was.
I asked a few people before someone knew where everything was in this place. I walked down a hallway, until II spotted the ladies' room.
I felt a hand grab my should and turn me around lightly.
The person frightened my so much that I choked on my spit. I coughed lightly then looked up. Oh, god.
