"I was so scared! I thought you'd drowned!" She lamented onto Sonic. He wasn't listening, though. He stared out at the ocean, mesmerised by his mystery hero's voice.
"Who...was that?" He asked himself, "That man...he saved me..."
"You're worse than I thought!" Amy gasped, pulling her dazed sibling away, "Come on, Sonic, I'll get you home!"
Under the waves, the mermen saw everything. Cloud woke up first and dragged Luigi away while Noctis dragged Mario.
"Not a word of this to anyone!" The squad agreed, unaware of a dark presence who also saw what happened.

"It's too easy!" Alastor cackled as he saw the events of that evening, "The child has fallen in love with a hedgehog! And not just any hedgehog, a prince! His daddy will love that." Boo looked along many shelves, all having small, stone, statues of merpeople foolish enough to not pay Boo.
He created an illusion of a Mario statue and held it in his arms, cradling it and imagining Mario's screams, "My youngest nephew will make a charming addition to my collection!" He cackled, before making his illusion self-destruct.
