Mario Koopa is the youngest of king Bowser Koopa's seven children, who loves to sing and explore. He is really fascinated with the Mobian world and would love to go there if his dad wasn't so paranoid.

"Why do I always get dragged into these situations?" Cloud questioned mentally as he swam after Luigi, "I should be writing compositions, not chasing after two headstrong teenage boys."
"Get down!" Whispered Luigi, ducking behind a rock as two certain mermen swam by. "What is my brother up to now?" he thought as he and Cloud swam after them.
They entered into a cove full of Mobian artefacts, knick-nacks and overall items. In the centre was a smooth couch-like rock, which Mario was laying on in tears. Cloud and Luigi hid behind a shelf of things as Noctis approached his friend.
"Hey, are you ok, Mar?" Asked Noctis, putting a supporting hand on his friend's shoulder.
"Oh, yeah Noct," Mario gave a weak smile to his friend, trying to mask his misery. "Papa just doesn't get it. How can a world full of wonderful things be terrible?"

Noctis pulled his friend into a hug just as a wardrobe fell, revealing Cloud and Luigi's hiding place.
There was an uncomfortable silence as the four mermen stared at each other. Finally, Cloud broke that silence.
"Mario, what in Davey Jones' locker is this?" He asked the rebellious young prince.
"My collection?" Mario answered innocently, knowing that he would be sushi if Luigi and Cloud told on him,
"It's okay, bro," Luigi said reassuringly to his twin, "Cloud and I understand," the older of the twin princes elbowed his friend/sensei in the stomach, "DON'T we, Cloud?"
"Y-yeah, we get you, Mario." Cloud massaged his stomach area, 'That's one strong God dang elbow to hurt through re-enforced ocean armour' he thought.
When Cloud recovered from Luigi's blow, he attacked again,
"IF YOUR FATHER KNEW ABOUT THIS, HE'D-!"
"But he can't know! He'd never get it like Mar and I do." Noctis interrupted, defending his friend. While those two mermen were arguing, Mario noticed that it'd suddenly become dark.
He looked up and saw a boat overhead. Like the curious child he was, he went to investigate.
Only Luigi noticed his brother swimming off, and he called after him, trying to get him to stop.
"Hey, wait!" The older of the twins called after the prince, "Mario!"
