Yuri paced around the room, contemplating whether or not to tell Jeno. She thought he had the right to know, but a part of her also thought he may already know. Another part of her thought that even if she told him, it wouldn't change anything. All the times where she had doubted herself because of Sooyun's scroll, was all just pointless worrying over lies. Her hatred for Sooyun had grown tenfold; sometimes she even contemplated how someone like her could possibly be a Royal.
Clutching the scroll, her eyes trailed over to a letter that was slipped under her door. Confused, she hesitated before walking towards it just in case it was some sort of bomb or something.
She knew that the letter wouldn't be anything like a confession letter. To be fair, she had never been confessed to and the only guy to ever have feelings for the villain she is was Jeno.
Opening the letter, she pulled out a crumbled piece of paper. On the paper had a sketch of her, hair flying behind her and her eyes curved into a crescent moon.
This was the sketch Jeno drew of her when they were together admiring the scenery on their hill
Flashing her eyes up, she desperately threw open the door in hopes to see him standing there with his hoodie and awkward attempt of a smile. To her dismay, she saw a blank wall and a flickering ceiling light.
She closed the door, subconsciously smiling small at each rough pencil line. One touch of the paper and memories flooded back to her.
Her phone rung the next moment, snapping her out of her trance.
"Is this Miss Wang?"
It was the familiar voice of her mother's lawyer "Yes it's me. Has there been updates?"
"The courting is tomorrow. There hasn't been any major updates. All we can do is hope for the best"
Yuri let out a heavy sigh "Alright, thank you for your help". Yuri hung up, one defeated breath leaving her lips. She knew that justice will always be served to the innocent, all it takes is time. Though in this situation, without evidence, without anyone or anything backing her up, her hope was slowly slipping through her fingers.
She looked at her phone for a couple seconds, staring at a particular red contact ID. She didn't want to leave any regrets before tomorrow. She was going to put in one more effort with Jeno. Just one more.

"Jeno" She called, hand clenching around her phone. Jeno's back halted. The two stood opposite each other across the two hallways: one Evil, one royal. The door that connected the two sides were wide open, the pristine marble bleeding into the dimmed purple lanterns hanging along the ceiling.
"Jeno if you don't turn around I'll walk into that cemetery right now" Life was not something someone should use lightly as a threat. Yuri was desperate, desperate to try one last time
Jeno turned around with his eyes glued to the floor and a sullen frown over his lips.
"I have a couple things I want to tell you" She shuffled forward a couple steps
"I don't want to hear it"
"I don't care" Her voice was strong, not a single hint suggested fear "The scrolls don't matter Jeno. None of us should be governed by the fear over those scrolls. None of it matters anymore because I'd rather take that bargain than let myself be chained up to assumptions and guesses"
"Is that it" He gave her such a hostile glare
"No" She advanced closer till the point the tips of her feet touched the wooden floor of the Evils side "I don't need to know what the reason behind whatever you're trying to do is anymore. I just want to spend today with you, all I need is today"
