It was the day after, and (Y/N) felt far better than she did yesterday. She had slept for a solid 12 hours, after falling asleep at 7pm the day before. She had a feeling that today was going to be a good day, which was not something that had happened for a while. (Y/N) bounced out of her room, smiling to herself. She walked out to the lounge, and was greeted with an equally excited looking Tony. He stood there, bouncing on his heels, wearing a shit eating grin on his face, looking quite mad. At that moment Sam decided to walk in.

"Woah," he said, backing away slowly. "What did you guys do?" he asked slowly, slightly terrified. He had good reason too. When and assassin and an unstable billionaire with unlimited resources were standing in silence and smiling at each other, usually meant that they've done something bad. "Why are you so happy?" (Y/N) asked ignoring him completely.

"Today is Pepper's birthday, so I'm throwing a party tonight for her." Tony replied quickly.

Sam's eyes widened and he to started grinning madly. He loved Tony's parties. They were often wild and stayed strong throughout the night, so to say he was excited was an understatement. To anyone who walked in right now, would probably think that they three of them were insane.

"Why are you excited?" Asked Tony, studying her.

In the past few days that she had been at the compound, he had never seen (Y/N) looking so happy. "Oh nothing." She said vaguely. "Just in a good mood." Tony narrowed his eyes. "Okay..." He trailed off. (Y/N) brushed past him, heading to the kitchen. Tony trailed after (Y/N), following her. "Where are you going?" He asked.

"To train." She replied, not looking back.

"Someone needs to come with you - well to train you. For missions." He said confused.

"Don't worry, I've had my fair share of them." She said, winking at him.

"Alright, we need to play to your strengths, mainly stealth, and add that to the dynamic to the team." That might have been what Steve was saying. (Y/N) wasn't listening. She was spinning a knife in her hand, and looking out of the window. For a room that routinely got destroyed, it really had a nice view. So far, no training had actually happened. After she left Tony, she went up to the training room, she had met Steve, who was apparently going to 'train' her. No matter how many times she told them, they insisted her on training, so they could a) familiarise themselves with her fighting technique, and b) now she was working for the 'good guys' she had to aim to hurt, not to kill. This disappointed (Y/N) greatly.

In her opinion, there were the real scum of the earth out there that did not deserve to live.

"So, you ready?" Steve asked. (Y/N) stood up from her chair. 'Finally ' she thought.

"Yup." She said popping the 'p', walking over to him. The two of them stepped into the fighting ring, and prepared to fight.

It was more or less the same as what had happened last time, except (Y/N) wasn't so aggressive and Steve didn't knock her unconscious.

(Y/N) jabbed at him, and Steve was not fast enough to block. "C'mon Rogers, you gotta do better than that. What if I had knives for hands and I just severed your arm?" Steve stopped what he was doing for a moment and looked confused. "If you had knives for hands?" He questioned looking totally lost. (Y/N) dropped her fighting stance and let out a laugh as she leant against the wall.

"Yeah you heard me the first time." She said.

She guessed Steve was still not use to her 'humor'. An unknown voice joined in the conversation. "What's this about having knives for hands?" Vision walked in. "That would be extremely dangerous, not to mention very inconvenient." He said looking at (Y/N) . He turned to Steve

"I have been sent to ask Mr Rogers to join Mr Stark down in the labs."

Vision relayed. Steve straightened his posture and grabbed a water bottle.

"I'll be down there in a second." He turned back to (Y/N).  Training is done for the day, usually it would be a lot longer - but today has been cut short." He said. (Y/N) didn't mind because this gave her the opportunity to explore. She had already seen a lot of the compound when she was stuck in the cage, leaving an illusion of herself and turning invisible. 'I'll go try find the others' (Y/N) thought, and turned herself invisible disappearing into the walls.

A few floors above...

Over the past 3 days, (Y/N) had said a total of 8 words to Bucky, and for some reason, this bothered him a lot. She had said three 'thank you's, a mumbled 'morning'  and a 'yes'. He was disappointed to day the least. Bucky wasn't sure what to expect when Fury asked him to dig for information, but it was not this. He thought she would be, at the least, hostile towards her.

He had confided in Steve yesterday, and Steve had told him that it would help to talk to her, for closure he guessed, and because they had shared past experiences, but he didn't know how. On top of all this, Fury was expecting him to get answers from him. As Bucky was thinking about all of this, he was mindlessly wandering the corridors of the compound when WHAM

Bucky was knocked off his feet and landed on the floor. "Shit," He heard a voice say. He looked up to find himself looking at nothing. "(Y/N)?" He asked the empty space on the floor.

She flickered into his line of sight. "Sorry," (Y/N) said quickly.

She scrambled to her feet,  not wanting to be caught off guard. Bucky watched (Y/N) mentally debate with herself, before coming to the decision to hold her hand out. Bucky wordlessly grabbed onto it and pushed himself off the ground. Despite the fact that (Y/N) was pulling as hard as she could, he was still a lot heavier than her, therefore when pushing himself up, pushed (Y/N) to the ground. She landed with an 'oomph' on the ground. Cursing herself, 'How did I ever think that it was a good idea to try and lift a super solider?'

"Sorry," Bucky said nervously, still using the hand he was holding to haul (Y/N) back up. "Thanks" She said quickly dropping her hand from his.

10 words in total

"No problem." Bucky replied. "What were you doing?" He asked trying to catch her eye. (Y/N) looked everywhere but him. "Looking around." She replied, still not looking at him.

"But the only thing down this way is Tony's lab." He said raising an eyebrow.

"Yeah," she replied in a small voice. "I know."

Bucky looked at her and couldn't help but laugh. (Y/N) was looking at her feet guiltily, like she was caught doing something bad - which she was. "I'll walk you down there. I think Steve is down there anyways."

The pair of them walked down the glass stairs to Tony's lab. Voices floated up the stairway, and (Y/N) couldn't help but listen. Bucky and (Y/N) reached the doorway to his lab.

"And I expect to see you there too." Tony pointed the wrench he was holding at Steve. There was a smear of something black across his forehead. "No last minute ditching." Tony turned around and pointed the wrench at Bucky. "You to cyborg." (Y/N) wordlessly pointed to his forehead. "Oh wha- oh" He began to furiously rub his forehead, but only succeed in smearing the black substance even more across his face. "Thanks." He told her. (Y/N) bit back a laugh. "Party begins at 8 o'clock on the dot. Don't  be late." He said the last part quite menacingly, "It's Pepper's special day - everything had to be perfect." The four of them stood in silence, until a beeping noise disrupted the silence. "Shit!" Tony exclaimed and rushed back to whatever he was doing. "Language" Steve muttered under his breath. (Y/N) took that as her queue to leave and left to go find something to entertain herself with. Bucky walked back up to the living room with Steve. '4:00pm'  He thought. That was four hours until the chaos began.

Enough time for a run.
