I stared into Coralee's eyes, amazed and terrified of the amount of feelings I had for her. She'd given a part of herself to me that no one else had. She had chosen me...truly chosen me. No one else had really never done that.

I touched her cheek, not ever wanting to let her go but the truth was, she would still leave. She had nothing here to stay for and I knew I would never be.

I struggled to say something. I wanted to tell her how precious she was to me but before I could utter one word, a knock sounded at the door, breaking apart the moment and bringing us back to reality.

I kissed her forehead before moving off her. "Get dressed, Angel."

Her eyes widened as she nodded. "Okay," She whispered as I stood, pulling on my pants and moved toward the door.

"Alpha," Psycho's voice moved through the door. "We leave at midnight. John wants you ready by then."

"We'll be ready," I said, thankful it was Psycho and not John on the other side of the door. I wasn't ready to have talk to him about my relationship with Coralee when I hadn't been able to speak to her about it yet.

I turned finding Coralee pulling a shirt over her head before pulling on her shorts. Her face was turned from me. I swallowed, hoping she didn't already regret our time together.

"Coralee?" I said, causing her to jerk her head up. Her eyes were wide and full of fear. My stomach churned as I took a step toward her. She moved toward me and wrapped her arms around my waist, letting me know that this had nothing to do with sleeping with her.

"I-I hope we get out of this state without my f- Jonathon finding us." Her bottom lip trembled over the words.

I caressed her cheek as her eyes met mine. "I swear to you, I won't let anything happen to you or your father. I give you my word."

She managed a small smile through her tears and nodded. "I trust you."

Those words, settled into my soul. In most women's eyes, I was untrustworthy...Only worth a good time but this woman was saving me little by little with her faith in me. I kissed her forehead, determined to be the man she believed me to be.

**********

John knocked on my door at midnight, his eyes moving from me to Coralee with a raised brow.

"Your father is downstairs, I hope you're ready for this ride," he said, glancing at me. "We'll go over everything before you leave."

She glanced at me, her eyes wide. "I'm ready," she said before turning and repeating this to John.

He gave her a smile. "Good." He rolled his eyes and sighed. "Leah and Allie have insisted on seeing you before you leave. I suspect Damara will be there too."

Coralee's face lit up, causing warmth to spread through my chest. It meant a lot to me that Coralee and my sister got along.

She grabbed her bag, but I stepped forward taking it from her. She gave me a smile and moved past John. As I moved to follow her, John grabbed my arm, stopping me.

His eyes met mine, "Alpha, I've been through this before with Beast. You have the same look. I want you to know if you love her that's okay. She's our family now."

I swallowed realizing how quickly I would have denied those feelings two days ago. Instead, I could only nod.

"Are you going to claim her?" He asked, frowning.

"I don't know." I glanced at the stairs she had descended. "She has options. She could leave. I don't know why she would choose me."

"Abie had options too. Hell, so did Leah." He ran his fingers through his hair. "Why these girls love us, I have no fucking clue but when they do, they show it by standing by us. Don't think Coralee won't just because she has money. You might be surprised. Besides, maybe you're a better guy than most of us knew. Maybe she sees that."

I sighed afraid to get my hopes up...Afraid to believe that was true. "I guess, we'll see. If she chooses me, I'll be hers. I won't force her."

John nodded. "I guess we should be more worried about Jonathon Nichols. This shit is dangerous. I can't shake the fact he keeps finding out shit he shouldn't know. Someone here must be telling him."

"You think one of our brothers is a traitor?" I asked, my heart clenching in my chest. These men...Every single one of them were family. It would hurt like hell to be betrayed like that.

John nodded slowly. "If I find out who the fuck it is, be prepared to grieve for them."

I winced because I knew the punishment for betraying the club. I gazed at John. "How are we doing this?" I asked, wanting to change the subject of a brother's death as quickly as possible.

"There are four paths we can take out of here. I've decided we're going to take them all." John smiled when I frowned. "You and Psycho will drive Coralee and Mark Past Hopkins Road and out of town through the backroads. Me, Deuce, Beast and Midnight will take the other vans in the other directions."

"Midnight?" I asked, my lips twitching because now, I was sure my sister was downstairs. Damara followed him around like a puppy. "It's a good plan."

He patted my shoulder. "The men downstairs, are the ones I trust the most. They aren't the traitors."

"I know."

We walked downstairs, finding the clubhouse empty except for the group of people near the bar. My eyes moved over each of them. Beast stood beside his ol' lady, Abie, who was talking to Leah and her daughters, Alison and Mariah. Deuce stood to the side, talking to Midnight while Damara hugged Coralee. Mark was downing a beer at the bar, giving himself some liquid courage.

I moved toward him, patting his shoulder. "You shouldn't drink. If something happens, you'll need to be able to think clearly. Besides, I won't let anything happen. Neither will they."

Mark nodded, glancing at Coralee. "This other club...You know them, right?"

"Pretty well. They are as much our brothers as the men here. I trust them." I glanced at Coralee. "I promise I wouldn't do anything to put her in danger."

He narrowed his eyes at me, studying me in a way that made me shift on my feet. "I believe you." He tilted his head. "I believe you would do anything for her."

I gave him a crooked smile, thankful he could see that.

"Alright let's move out!" John shouted.

I moved through the small crowd to stand next to Coralee, clasping her hand. I took a deep breath hoping she knew I would do anything for her too because if Jonathon Nichols or anyone else tried to hurt her, she would find out exactly how far I would go to protect her.
