Psycho drove like...Well, a psycho to get out of Texas. Once we crossed the Arkansas line he slowed down and we were able to relax. Alpha spent some time on a phone he picked up from a convenience store talking to someone from The Chained Gods.
"John chose for him to come with me." Alpha's voice was low but Psycho glanced at him with a raised brow.
Psycho mumbled something under his breath. "Tell them as long as they leave Coralee alone there will be no problem."
Alpha smiled. "Psycho has ensured that there will be no problem if your boys leave Coralee alone," he said smoothly. "That promise is from him and me."
Alpha's grin widened as he glanced at the time on the phone. "I would say about five hours give or take."
Psycho chuckled as he accelerated. "Tell them take."
Alpha rolled his eyes, then hung up without saying good-bye. His eyes landed on Psycho. "The Chained Gods may still be a little pissed about that little disagreement you had the last time they visited."
"There wouldn't have been a disagreement if he had kept his hands to himself." Psycho rolled his eyes. "There won't be another one if they remember that lesson, though I think this time it won't be me teaching them that lesson."
I frowned as I glanced at Alpha but it was my father who asked the question I wanted to know. "What happened?"
"They touched Allison. They know better than to touch John's daughters." Psycho's eyes narrowed.
I glanced toward Alpha who chuckled. "There are certain women of the club who are off limits. John's daughters as well as the daughters of club members and the ol' ladies."
I had heard the term but had assumed it was an odd form of endearment. "Ol' ladies?"
"The simplest explanation is that the women who are wives and girlfriends of club members...Like Leah and Abie. John claimed Leah and Beast claimed Abie." Alpha grinned. "It has to be announced to the club and they have their own patches but the men know."
"What happened when one of the men touched Allison?" I asked, frowning.
Alpha chuckled. "Psycho beat the hell out of him. He also clocked me when I tried to pull him from him."
"You should have left me alone." Psycho smirked.
"You would have killed him." Alpha deadpanned.
The glint in Psycho's eyes caused me to shiver. "He would have deserved it."
Alpha rolled his eyes. "I think he learned his lesson. He won't go near Allison again."
I glanced at Alpha, my stomach churning. "Have either of you had ol' ladies?"
Alpha's grin widened as he leaned toward me, his eyes meeting mine. "Not yet, Angel."
Psycho smirked. "Nope...Not yet. It will take a special girl to get either of us to settle down."
I glanced at Alpha knowing that just because we had sex did not mean that I was that special girl. The problem was that I could see being with him as his girlfriend in my mind's eye. I swallowed hard because I realized I wanted to be claimed by him in every way that he could claim me.

I fell asleep against Alpha's shoulder as we crossed the bridge from Arkansas into Tennessee. When I opened my eyes I was being carried by Alpha into a large warehouse.
"It's okay, Angel," he whispered, pressing a kiss against my forehead. "We're in the clubhouse of The Chained Gods."
"Bobby," Psycho said in greeting. A smirk moved across Psycho's face as Alpha pulled me closer against him but still allowing me to see what was going on without anyone knowing I was awake. Bobby glanced at my father.
"You must be Mark?" He asked raising his brow.
He nodded. "Thank you so much for helping us."
Bobby chuckled. "Anything to take out Jonathon Nichols. He's connected to some pretty bad men around here that caused me a lot of trouble a while back. I spent some time in prison for something I didn't do."
"Jonathon is capable of so much evil. Anything and anyone he touches suffer for it." My father shook his head and I could see the pain of my mother's death and loss of time with me in his face. "I want to take him down. I want to make sure my daughter is safe from him."
"Even if it hurts you?" Bobby raised a brow, staring straight into my father's eyes.
"Jonathon has taken everything and everyone that means anything to me...Except for Coralee. I will die protecting her if need be." My heart clenched in my chest. I wanted to hug him but I knew that Alpha was keeping me cradled against his chest for a reason. Maybe he didn't completely trust these men around me.
Bobby gave a sharp nod. "That's what I want to hear. There is a doctor that helps out my boys from time to time. He will come here first thing in the morning and take the samples. He will personally be over the completion of the test. He accredited. No one will be able to deny the results."
"John didn't tell me. What are you getting from this?" Alpha asked, narrowing his eyes.
Bobby's grin widened. "You know me well, boy." He chuckled the sound rising from deep in his chest. "The one thing I want is Jonathon Nichols downfall. It starts with this girl."
"Her name is Coralee," Alpha said, raising his brows.
"He'll lose her money as soon as she exposes him for his lack of daddy juice running through her veins." He pursed his lips. "I happen to know that his funds are running low and he depends solely on the income from his current wife. She doesn't realize it but he was going to make sure she became the late Mrs. Nichols once he had his hands on Coralee's money."
"Do you have proof of that?" Psycho asked.
Bobby crossed his arms over his chest, a light moving through his eyes. "Not yet but before you leave here I will." His eyes moved to me. "Alpha, you can let your girl down. No one will hurt her here."
Alpha sighed and lowered me to the ground but kept his arm around my waist. I raised my chin gazing into Bobby's eyes. "What do you want from me?" I shrugged. "I know you expect something from me for your help."
"Just get that smile ready for the cameras." I frowned as he said this. "I have a journalist ready to expose who your daddy really is. I just need you to confirm it."
I nodded, realizing this would help me and my father as much as it would help him. I flashed a smile. "It's ready as soon as the results are here."
Bobby smirked but I couldn't help but wonder exactly what Jonathon had done to him in the past. I shrugged because I guess it didn't matter as long as he helped us.
