Hello, Lovelies,
I know it's been a while. First, I want to say, I am healthy. I am okay. I have been dealing with a lot though. I had a very dear friend die. He did but did not die from Covid. I would like to explain that. He suffered from depression. The isolation was too much and he committed suicide. So, I know a lot is going on right now but if you have any friends who suffer from depression, please check on them. This is hard on them in a much different way than most people. Sadly, he isn't the only one who has gone down this path. I am still grieving but that being said, I am back to writing. I am thankful to all who have been patient. I appreciate all of you so much.
I hope you enjoy this chapter. If you do, please let me know. Comments are great as well as votes. To all who have read, voted and commented on my stories, thank you. Also, thank you to those who have followed me. It means so much to me.
-XXXX Amanda

I glanced up at the clubhouse, my stomach churning as I took in the familiar structure. I was stunned that I had actually done it. I had left but I still had problems believing I wouldn't be found, especially here where my step-sisters had come less than a week before.
"Coralee," Alpha said, his voice calming the panic twisting through my mind as I lifted my eyes to his face, "Are you alright? I assume you've never been on a bike, angel. I didn't scare you, did I?"
I blinked and shook my head and spoke in a voice that was oddly calm, "No, you didn't."
The fact was he had helped me enact my plan to escape though I still didn't know why. Yet, there was something about him that told me I could trust him.
He smiled taking in my face as he pulled his bottom lip between his teeth. I blinked my eyes unable to pull away from the motion.
"Come on, angel," he said, his voice low, "We gotta face the demon before you're completely safe."
I blinked, my heart thrumming against my chest, "Demon?"
"Don't worry," he said, smirking, "I won't let anybody hurt you. You have to trust me."
"I barely know you," I said, swallowing because it was true. One noble action didn't make a good guy.
"And yet, you got on my bike," he said, raising his brows, "So, I'm assuming that what you left behind is scarier than me which is bad because I can be terrifying."
I tilted my head, studying his handsome face. For a moment, I could see where other people might be frightened, "I believe that."
He held his hand out and I slid my hand into his, intrigued by its strength and its rough texture. He helped me from the bike, his hands sliding to my waist to steady me.
I swallowed as his musky scent surrounded me, "Now, I need you to listen," he said, his minty breath sliding over my face, "Let me do the talking when we get in here...Unless I tell you otherwise."
I wanted to ask questions but the concern passing over his face made me nod, "Okay."
"Come on, Angel," he whispered, stepping away from me only to grab my hand again.
As we stepped into the clubhouse, I glanced around taking in the pool tables and bar, marveling at how different it seemed in the daytime. Few people inhabited the clubhouse during the daylight hours and I was able to take in details that I wasn't able to see before, like the huge dragon's head behind the bar with words Grimm Dragons M.C. above it and Ozland, Texas beneath it or the bottles lined up along the back wall.
