(A/N, so the last one was super short... but I'm trying my hardest to bring this book to a close soon cuz if I kept it going then I'd have to consider actually planning it and all that, this was just supposed to be short just to get it out of my head kind of thing. it's gotten a bit out of hand so this may or may not be some of the last chapters, tell me if you think I should keep going or not.)

he sits up in a hospital bed, he can see his foster parents arguing with the doctor outside of his room. he clenches his teeth, he can't go home to them. he can't do that again, why couldn't they just let him be done with everything? why didn't they just let him die on his own terms?

letting out a shaky breath he sits up, trying not to alert the nurses to his intentions. the moment he's upright he begins to feel nauseous and lightheaded, the doctor chooses this moment to walk in and he says "hey, kiddo, you shouldn't be try'n to get up so soon. you lost a lot of blood."

Leo gives him a look of distain saying "yeah, so I gathered, do they know?" the doctor takes a second to process what he meant before answering "uh, yeah... I'm sorry, they want to send you-"

Leo cuts him off saying "they want to send me away. they don't want me anymore..." the thought hurt him five different ways to Sunday. they were the first none abusive -still neglectful but they don't beat him- home he's been to in years.

he's going to be sent back, sent to another abusive home, he's never going to be safe and it's all his fault. he chokes out "they don't want me..." the doctor gives a sympathetic pat on his knee, the gesture well meaning but it reminded Leo of Cadenza.

of her warning, from that he gave himself a motto, he needs to fallow it no matter what. grinding his teeth together he says "just kill me." the doctor does a slight double take looking at him he asks "what? Leo-" he snaps in anger and despair, his voice trembling.

"don't 'Leo' me, just fucking do it! I'd rathe die then deal with this shit! another house, another beating, I'm done!" his voice cracks as he clamps his mouth shut in shock, he hadn't meant to snap. he hadn't meant to spill the vary rotten beans.

Leo whispers "just make it stop." the doctor watches the look of resignation on the young teen's face. it didn't belong there, he's seen it on the faces of old people as they begrudgingly accept their fate of death, and on adults who diagnosed with deadly illnesses.

the doctor asks carefully "make what stop?" but the boy doesn't answer, simply glances between him and his parents who have now devolved into a shouting match.

Thalia couldn't stop the tears from welling in her eyes, she's had experience with shouting matches. she blinks rapidly trying to stop them from falling as she presses her lips into a thin line.

the group has gotten used to the silence of the shock from Leo's memories, she guesses that she's not the only one who underestimated Leo and everything about him. she's preached the whole 'don't judge a book by it's cover' yet she has done that exact thing to Leo. she hopes to fix this mistake.

(A/N, I'm alive! the electrical issue has been fixed! it was fixed last night and I wrote part of this then and just finished it, hope you all have had a wonderful day or will have a wonderful day and that not to mad about my lack of updating.)
