We Blow Up a Gas Station

Percy's POV

Nico shadow traveled us out of Tartarus. Good riddance of that filthy place. We appeared at Los Angeles. I told them the story how I  fought Procrustes and Ares here. We needed to go to San Francisco, towards Mount Tam.

We hitch a ride from a bus and reached a stop. We got out to find a gas station with the workers slounging around. Only two workers were there working, two gorgons.

From the counter came out another monster. The beloved sister of those two gorgons, Aunty Em herself a.k.a Medusa. She had her back turned but it was pretty clear with her serpent hair.

The workers were in a trance given by the two gorgons. They were raiding the place, searching for something...

"We need to find it!" Yelled a gorgon.

"Before the end of the day!" Said another.

"You nitwits! How can we not find a scythe that big?" Shouted Medusa pointing to a small pine tree.

They were searching for the scythe of Kronos. Thank goodness they don't know WHERE to find it. But we must stop them immediately.

I uncapped Riptide as Jason and Nico unsheathed their swords. The two gorgons noticed us while Medusa kept on searching.

"Where in the world is that idiotic scythe?" She yelled frustrated.

"Eat sword snake women!" I yelled as I  approached the two gorgons.

"Still working on those merchandize you two?" I asked.

I sliced my sword up the first gorgon's neck but she dodged. The second one attacked with a knife but I  parried it.

Jason and Nico went up to help me.

"We got this man, just take out Medusa!" Jason said.

"Leave the hardest part to me," I  grumbled.

I controlled water from gallons and soaked Medusa with it. She turned to see me and I  shut my eyes close.

"You came back Percy? Want to take another picture?" Medusa asked.

"Thanks, but no thanks," I  replied.

"Just see me Percy, you know the satisfaction when you have done it," tried Medusa.

"The satisfaction of being turned to stone? Thanks but I'd rather pass," I  replied.

"Open your eyes!" Medusa commanded now holding on to me firmly, "Or I shall open them myself"

I somehow sensed the liquid in a tank and before I knew it was oil, I controlled it to shoot to Medusa's face.

"Aaargh!" She screamed as her face dripped oil.

"Let me light that up for ya!" I said as I took a match and lit it up.

"Percy don't be an idiot! We'll all blow up if you do this!" Yelled Jason.

I slashed Riptide at another thank and oil came out as well. Then other, this time gasoline. I slashed three more gasoline cans.

"Jason!" I called.

He seemed to understand and nodded. I threw the match stick towards the puddle and Jason surrounded the three of us with cocoons of air.

Inside the cocoons we saw the explosion and let me just tell you, it was not a sight worth seeing. After the explosion died down Jason relaxed his hand and the cocoons left us.

We left the messed up gas station and walked down the road. Sure enough an hour later, as we walked past a café, we saw the television where a host is interviewing.

"I saw a boy in the gas station with three women. The boy, probably 17 lit up a match and threw it at oil and gasoline tanks. I looked back as the gas station exploded. When I looked back, the boy was gone. He has gone with another 2 boys with him," said an eyewitness.

We walked pass by and tried to avoid police cars best we could. We had no idea where we were going just that we were avoiding police cars. We needed to find a way to get to Mount Tam.

Suddenly as we walked down an alley, a truck came pass us and stopped dead at his tracks in front of us blocking our way. A man came out wearing a velvet suit and suit pants. He wore sunglasses and looked like he would take your wallet the first chance he got.

Another man got out. He was less fancy and just used a yellow t shirt with short pants. He wore gold sunglasses and brought along with him a flute. He radiates the power of the sun.

"We need to talk kids, looks like your quest wouldn't be as easy as you think," said Hermes.

"Things are gonna shake up a little bit, if you know what I mean," said Apollo,"We just figured out the main man you're fighting against just got reinforcements. They include Nyx, primordial goddess of night and her army slash relative, the rest of the titans except for Iapetus, and also the worst monsters from the depths of Tartarus. Minotaur, Prometheus, Nemean Lion, etc. You get what I mean."

"The point is this guy is gonna come against you with a monster army and a primordial goddess by his side," said Hermes, "And the first place where he'll lay siege on to take over this world is your camp."
