A month later...

Christian's POV

Never in my life have I thought that I would one day stand in front of the altar, waiting for my bride. This was not how I planned my life. I'm content with my bachelor life, but of course my parents have other plans. My dad came to me one day and asked me when will I bring a girl home. I laughed and told him not to hold his breath because I don't plan on getting married or be in a committed relationship.

I'm not a womanizer or anything and it's not like I'm scared to be with someone because I've been hurt or something. I just don't see the point of getting married and being tied to a person for the rest of your life. It gets complicated and messy even. I've always been business oriented and I didn't make time for love. I mean I've had partners before, but that's it.

My dad continued to pester me about getting married, but I just laugh him off until one day he told me that he'll take away the company away from me if I don't get married. Again I laughed it off, but he told me if he has to do it this way, he'll actually do it. I got frustrated with this ultimatum because the company is my life. I was so upset and angry with the situation that in the end I just gave in. "Fine. You want me to get married? You pick the girl then because it doesn't matter anyway. But just for your information, dad, it's a loveless marriage, just another contract," I said before storming off a month ago.

Now here I am, waiting for the doors to open to reveal my bride. I didn't know what she looked like because I didn't bother to look at her pictures or to meet her before the wedding. To be honest, all of this wedding stuff is a joke to me. I didn't actually plan to go through with it. I just want to satisfy my curiosity by seeing the face of the woman who's crazy enough to agree to this marriage. After that, I'll just walk away. I realized that my dad won't actually take the company away from me. I'm his only heir.

A sweet melody began to play as the doors began to open. Just one look at her and I'll be on my way. I can almost taste the freedom, but then I saw her. Looking at her was a mistake because one look was all it took to take my breath away and make my heart skip a beat.

I was in a trance. I couldn't bring myself to walk away. This was new to me, but just this once, I went with whatever was going on. I guess I'm actually getting married after all.
