Tuesday, 4:45 pm...

Christian's POV

I'm standing on the stage at the cafe where Candice sings. Everyone's eyes are on me, and it's nerve-wracking. Earlier I asked the manager of the cafe to cut off Candice's last song so that I can use that time to do what I should have done a while ago — tell her I'm in love with her.

So now, I'm standing in front of the confused crowd while looking at Candice's surprised face. I cleared my throat as I forgot the speech I formulated in my mind. I panicked, but then decided to simply tell her a story in front of the crowd.

"Hi. Don't worry, people, I'm not here to propose. In fact, I'm already married. I'm here to tell a story. Here it goes. Nine months ago , a man's father gave his son an ultimatum. He will get married or else, he'll take away the company from him. The man can't let that happen. So he agreed.

The man could have had a bride of his choice, but instead he just decided to marry this woman his father chose. Two weeks later, he was standing at the front of the church, waiting for the girl in a white dress.

Actually, he had a plan. He would have one look at the girl, and then run away. He was going to defy his father because he didn't really want to marry and because he didn't really think he'll take the company away from him.

He was ready to run away, but when he saw her for the first time, his plan flew out the window because with that one look, she took his breath away and stole his heart. He was never the one to believe in love at first sight, but then he met her.

He suddenly found himself frozen in his place. He couldn't find it in himself to walk away. So the he settled for plan B. Sure he'll marry the girl, but he will make her regret ever agreeing to their marriage until she asks for divorce. However, that didn't work out."

At this point, I didn't even minded the crowd. It was like Candice and I are the only ones inside the cafe. I continued, "When he first saw her sing, he felt like she's singing only for him. The next thing he knows, he's watching her every performance, and each time, he finds himself falling in love...but of course he would not admit it.

He then learned about her past and little things about her. She snores, she's loud, and she eats a lot of chocolate, but somehow, knowing those things, he fell even more in love with her. She sneaked her way into his heart without even knowing it, and it's fine by him. All I'm trying to say is that I'm in love with you, Candice.

Don't worry, I don't expect you to say you love me back-"

I was cut off by Candice, "oh, shut up," and with that, she kissed me. She kissed me, and it was breath-taking. It felt like time stopped, and I have butterflies in my stomach.

I probably sound like a girl, but I don't care. Candice kissed me!!

 Finally! He admits he loves her!

Oh, butt out...I'm having a moment here.

Our kiss ended, and I leaned my forehead against hers. "I love you," I said.

She closed her eyes and said, "I know."
