Author's Note:

Hello everyone!

For those of you who don't know me, I'm Bree, one of the writers for this story (and also a new one, as of April 25th), and here I present to you, chapter 11! Get ready, this one is REALLY full of angst (never think I'm joking when I say that...seriously).

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this chapter, because we worked very hard on it. And stay tuned for a special guest in the middle of it 😉

Happy reading!

-Brie

Special thanks to Breemarie12256 for writing this chapter together with me and to Dinobot King for coming up with the plot.

Eagle sat on the edge of another higher building she had picked. Unable to even think one thing clearly before letting so many mixed emotions enter her head - anger, sadness, fear... panic. It was all there. She couldn't steer clear of her feelings because her feelings were unreadable to even herself. She was truly alone, trapped in her own world with no one to turn to. No one to talk to. No one who truly understands her.

She finally understood what Olympia felt , or wanna of those heroes. Being a protector isn't all that easy, it wasn't something one could control at all. And the realization of that hurt her even more, realizing that she hated Olympia, all these years, for something that she shouldn't have. Then, a flash of light appeared behind her.

"Tikki, Kaalki Divide."

"Eagle? What are you doing up here?" The voice asked her, slowly approaching where she sat.

"Huh? Who... Ladybug?" asked Eagle surprised. 'W- What are you doing here?"

"I... heard about what happened on the news. Came to check it out for myself." Ladybug surveyed the city. "Part of me regrets it, part of me... is happy I came here anyway."

"What... were you thinking... when you let me keep the miraculous... What were you thinking? Please, be honest with me, Ladybug," asked Eagle desperately.

"Oh no, you're having the second thoughts." Ladybug sighed, remembering when she was in the same place as Eagle when she first became Ladybug.

"I think the real question here is what are YOU thinking, Eagle." She said, sitting down next to the other girl on the edge. "I watched the broadcast... a friend showed it to me. You seemed really on edge."

"On the edge in an understatement," Eagle scoffed sarcastically. "My couldn't stop the monster, I let people get hurt, probably killed, and all the damage. And worse of all, my friends came looking for me, and got themselves hurt. And I couldn't help them... I couldn't stop it. I couldn't save everyone... I'm so useless... What were you thinking... when you asked me to keep it? Why!?" Eagle's voice was cracking with emotions as she sat on the edge of the building.

Ladybug sighed. "You really wanna know what I was thinking?"

"What does it look like!?" Eagle snapped. "Sorry... I'm just..."

"It's fine, you're going through a lot right now. It's understandable if you snap at me." Ladybug said, leaning back on her palms.

"When I trusted you with a miraculous, I didn't see someone who was unfit for the role - I saw a girl who wanted to prove herself worthy of going off on her own... not the monster you currently seem to see yourself as. What made you fit for the Eagle Miraculous is that you possessed bravery, courage... the want to reach your full potential. And you did, when we were trying to get the adult heroes back. That's what made you worthy of a miraculous in my eyes. And your mother seemed to agree."
