The ringing of a fire alarm woke you from your sleeping state. You sat up with a groan, rubbing your eyes as your mother called through the apartment with a panic.

"Y/n! The buildings on fire, we have to go!" She shouted, running around in a hurry.

"Y/m/n, relax I'm sure it's nothing too bad. Let just go outside and wait until the firemen show up" your dad tried to calm her down as he sleepily stumbled around with her.

"Y/n, if are not out here—" she starts again but is cut off suddenly.

"Are you ready?" You looked back at her, door open and ready to enter the hall as you carried your book and phone out with you. Your mother continued to rush your family out of the apartment and onto the designated fire safety spot on the yard outside of the building.

It was a nice summer night so you weren't standing in the cold for hours. You noticed your best friend Peter Parker and his Aunt May handing blankets out to those who were cold and smiled at their kindness, sending May a shirt wave.

"Can I go sit down?" You looked up to your mother as she was making her way towards Aunt May.

"Yeah sure but don't go too far" she warned, more distracted by everything else going on outside. You carefully maneuvered your way through the crowd of people huddled around until you found a clear spot of grass. You laid down and opened your book, reading through to keep yourself entertained. You were pulled out of your story world when a blanket was dropped on top of you.

"Hey!" You looked up to scold the person but all anger left as soon as you saw the curly brown locks of hair that sat on your friends head.

"Hey" he smirked, knowing that you were mad at him from dropping the blanket on you.

"You're the worst"

"No I'm not" he laid down next to you and pulled the blanket over you both as you laid beside each other on the cool grass. "What are you reading?" He nodded to the book in your hands.

"Just (your favourite book)" you shrugged, closing it and turning slightly to face him.

"So how long do you think this will take?" Peter questioned, making small talk while moving his arm to wrap around your shoulders and give you something to rest your head on.

"No longer than an hour I'd imagine, somebody probably just burnt their midnight snack" he laughed lightly at your response and you continued to read you book with your best friend unknowingly watching you as you did so.

"Where did they go?" Your mother started to panic again as she searched for you. The firefighters had given the all clear to return to the building.

"There they are" May smiled sweetly as she saw the two teens cuddled up in the grass, both having fallen asleep again. "Peter, it's time to get up. We are allowed back inside" May gently shook her nephews shoulder to wake him from his sleep.

"Huh?" He stirred awake and sat up a bit before noticing the weight on his other arm. May smiled at him knowingly before walking off towards the building.

"I'll see you inside!" She called behind to him, directing your mother inside as well. Peter smiled down at your sleeping figure before shuffling around to pick you up in his arms. You nuzzled in closer to his chest as he stood to his feet and carried you towards the door, warming his heart as you did so. Unfortunately as his heart began to beat quicker in his chest his gaze fell upon you again and he wasn't watching where he was going. Walking through the doors of your apartment complex your foot his the side of the door and you started to stir from your sleep.
