Chapter 3

I've been working with Mr. Smith for a month now. Sophia and I have grown to be close friends. Also, Matt and Sophia have started dating, as I had expected them to.

Even though it is fun to work there I'm not going to be an assistant for the rest of my life. I want to open a cafe of my own and plan to do so once I have enough money. Ryan would without any question help me in opening a cafe but I want to earn some myself as well and I get paid pretty well here. More than what I had thought in the beginning.

Today, I need to get to work and get the conference room ready for the meeting. Someone has shown interest in buying Smith's Enterprise. That is the purpose of the meeting.

Whoever this person is, he or she must be extremely rich to be able to buy an entire company. Even if our company isn't particularly too large, purchasing a whole company is still huge.

Deep down I don't want this deal to go forward. Mr. Smith is a wonderful guy in his late fifties. I love working with him, and everyone in our work respects him well. I've grown used to him. But, he has been considering this option because he does not have an heir. My wish or not it's his company so I can't do anything for the matter.

I get dressed in a black pencil skirt and a white blouse. I opted to wear my hair in a low ponytail with a few strands out like I usually do. If only I could figure out how to style my hair.

Who in the world am I supposed to ask for help?

Brielle used to help me with this stuff when we lived together but now there is no one. Despite trying to be social I don't even know the neighbors in the building much. Met them only a few times.

After having some breakfast quickly I put on my shoes and get out like always.

Coffee is needed. I always take one for Matt too. It has become a routine. I park my car in the first parking space I find.

Guess, I'm lucky today to find it so fast unlike some mornings where I skip getting coffee because of lack of parking space.

I walk into the cafe and unlock the door whilst checking my phone to make sure I'm not late.

I collide with something, more like somebody, just as I place the phone in my bag and raise my head.

"Sorry" I blurt out just as I meet the person's face.

Who is he?

Green eyes.

Beautiful green eyes.

My heart slows for a moment as I take in his face briefly.

Stop. Don't be a creep, Rose.

The thought makes me close my eyes for a second before I open them again. I try avoiding his face but he doesn't move, just standing there.

Despite his attractiveness, the man is intimidating.

My breath leaves my throat because without having much choice I meet his eyes once again.

Why does he look familiar when I've never seen him? Surely a face like this must be hard to miss.

Now I realize why isn't he moving. He is mad at me. The expression on his face is unpleasant.

All because I accidentally crashed into you?

I don't get to examine any more of his features when he speaks sharply, making me want to cower away from the strong dominating tone, "Sorry? You run into Arioso Romano and say sorry."

I look around but nobody is looking at us. He spoke in a low voice yet with so much authority.

Run, Rose. You're getting late. Apologize and leave.
