"Why is that girl here, Arosio?" Adriana asks, and everyone's gaze is drawn to me, including the maid's as they become still. Why can't they just be quiet and stop asking me questions? I have enough on my mind with everything else.
"Why do you have to put your nose in other people's business?" I say, warning her to not push it further. But of course, she won't let it go.
"Can't you for once answer without snapping? I've never asked about your business, but she is one handful girl. She's causing so much trouble." She says glaring, why did I get an infuriating sister like her? "But you obviously don't know that since you just threw her in maid quarters and said 'deal with her'." Riana hasn't even been here for a day, and she has managed to give everyone a headache.
"I'll deal with her and she will be here for some time," I say dismissing the topic. She will be here until I find out who is messing with me.
"Adriana let it go," Sergey says looking at her which makes her glare back at him with anger.
"You always side with him. Is he your fiancé or am I?" She throws the napkin and stomps off. Sergey follows her.
"What are you all waiting for? Do your work." I say coldly, and the maids leave to do whatever it is they're supposed to.
My phone vibrates in my pocket and I pull it out.
One of my men who is supposed to look after Roselyn has sent me a photo of a man who has been seen around the area, not just area he has been seen everywhere she goes even in her old apartment when she went to grab her things. Who the fuck is this man? And I asked them to send a clear photo of his face but they have sent a photo of his back. He is dressed in a hoodie and pants, hiding his face properly with the hood. It can't be a coincidence, he is everywhere she is.
"What is it?" Alberto asks. Again with the questions. I shake my head dismissing him silently.
I stride to the car as I button up my suit. My hand was on the handle when my phone vibrates again.
Roselyn? Why is she calling me? Maybe she wants to know who the person is that messaged her. With the yearning to hear her voice I pick it up.
"A-Asroio," She says. Why does she sound like she is crying?
"Roselyn," I say even though I had planned not to speak. Is she trying to muffle up her cries? I am certain she is crying.
"Roselyn, why are you crying?" I question as calmly as I can so I don't panic her more.
"Arosio please ple-please let her go. I promise I will come back to you. But please don't do anything to Brielle." She cries more. Why would I take her friend? "Please Arosio." She begs.
"What are you saying? I didn't take your friend. I'm not even around you."
"Please Arosio. Don't lie. Your men took her. Let her go." Her cries come out louder and a sharp pain travels in me knowing she is hurting.
"I didn't take her Roselyn. She is not with me. You wanted to leave me, so I let you go." I lie. I never had the intention of letting her go even though I am trying for her sake.
"You're lying. I saw with my own eyes, men took her." If I didn't take her friend. Who did? This has to be the same person who helped her escape.
I swivel around and walk towards the front door. "DORIAN," I call him.
"Rose, my love where are you?" I hope she is not outside; if she is, she is in danger. They must have intended to take her but instead took her friend. I did a background check on her friend and she was not in this business, so there is no doubt it was a mistake that they took her.
