My eyes open, and my hand immediately comes up to my head feeling scorching pain. What the hell? I moan because of the pain and lift my head up. My vision becomes clear and I think it's dawn based on what I see around the surrounding. After a moment or two, I realize I'm in the car.

"You're awake." Brielle?

I turn to my left to see her driving. Everything comes back to me at once. I had successfully escaped him this time. I am free from him. Brielle saved me.

"Brielle, how long have you been driving for?" I ask and immediately wince feeling pain in my temple. Oh, right. Someone had hit me with a gun in the gas station. I lean up to look in the mirror and notice there is a small cut on the left side. Who were those men? How did they appear out of nowhere? And how am I here? Brielle couldn't have taken down two grown men despite the feisty attitude she had. Physically, those men were stronger than both of us. I had taken around ten steps when two men came in front of me and before I could scream my head met their gun and I was fighting to stay conscious.

"I don't even know Rose. It's around 6 now. We'll reach the apartment within the next two hours. I'm about to pass out." She says and I notice her eyes are bloodshot.

"Pull over," I say.

"Why?" Our car was not the only one on the road, there were several others as well.

"I'll drive," I say tying my hair properly such that it won't be everywhere.

"Can you drive Roselyn? I was afraid you had a concussion." She pauses and then pulls over, "God, Rose. What is going on? My head is about to blast any second. I'm exhausted. You were out all night. At some point, I felt like you were dead. You were kidnapped and we ran from that hotel. But when I come out after paying, there you were on the ground with two bulls trying to take you again. I was so scared, Rose. I couldn't fathom anything. Everything felt too much. I can't even imagine what you must have felt because it's been only a day and mind, it's about to........." She leans back on the seat closing her eyes, exhaustion clear on every part of her face.

I open the door and get out after making sure no car was coming our way. She gets out as well and sits on the ground. I sit beside her and glance up at the sky. It's chilly and everything looks clear.

"I'll explain everything but for now let's go home," I say and wrap my hands around her shoulder.

"I don't think my mind can function properly. I don't even want to look at cars. The sight of it is making me feel sick," She says blinking her eyes rapidly. She drove twelve hours and then hours more, anyone would feel that way. But she still came for me. My head was still heavy but I think I can drive. She can rest for some time. "There is no way I'm going to be inside a car any time soon after today." She laughs, "But it was worth it. You're with me. Safe. I had missed you so much."

"I missed you too Brielle. Now get inside the car, I will drive and we'll be back at our apartment in no time." I say rubbing her shoulder.

"And about our apartment, I have like two weeks left to find another one." I scrunched my forehead. We love that apartment, everything was perfect about it. The rent wasn't much either. Why would she leave it?

"Why?" I ask.

"You see, it was fine for few weeks after you left, but then I started to miss you like crazy. I knew a lot of people but none of them were like you. And even I wanted to move away. So I paid my rent and informed them that I would be leaving. I had initially thought I would move in with you, but I knew you were looking for a change. So, I again thought I would be at your place for some time and move to the same area as yours so I could still be closer to you." She says pinching the bridge of her nose and buries her face in her knee, "And it's already late, the landlady already has someone who is going to move in our apartment after we leave." She adds.
