一 𝚊𝚝𝚜𝚞𝚜𝚑𝚒'𝚜 𝚙𝚎𝚛𝚜𝚙𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚒𝚟𝚎 一
I was fast asleep. Nothing but dreaming to be free and living a normal childhood with [Y/N]. Us playing around in an open field. Diffferent types of flowers around the area, nothing to worry, nothing to fear, just playing all day until we pass out. It's what we always wanted. But I immediately woke up for dream land hearing sounds outside where I slept.
I jumped awake a bit scared. For some reason I could pick up hearing than other kids around the orphanage. I sat up on my bed looking around to see everyone asleep. I noticed [Y/N] wasn't in her bed. I looked in front of me, the moon was the only thing lighting the room. I then heard another noise making me jump again holding onto the sheets for dear life.
The doorknob slowly turned. I was scared that the head master was coming to get me and beat me up like usual. I hid under the covers pretending to sleep so he wouldn't get me. I was shivering in fear. I could hear footsteps coming closer to me. I shut my eyes tightly afraid. I could no longer hear their footsteps, I knew he stood where I was but it stopped so suddenly and i just stayed in place for another few minutes in case anything were to happen. Nothing happen. I thought to myself.
"Psst"
"..."
"Psst, Hey Atsushi! I know you're awake."
I slowly took the covers off my head to see [Y/N] in front of me a huge smile on her face. "[Y/N]? W-what are you doing up this late?" I asked her. She just giggled a bit. "Did you really forget sushi-kun?" 'Sushi' was the nickname she put me when we first met and from then on we stuck together, side by side.
"What are you talking about? Forget what?" She just gasp a bit to loud for my liking but that was [Y/N] for you. She could be a bit loud at times and there was no stopping her. She stood there dumbfounded for a second before coming back to reality. "Just come on I have something to show you." She said dragged me out of bed almost stumbling onto the floor.
We were now running in the quite long hallways of the orphanage. Our footsteps could probably be heard all over the place. "Hurry Sushi!" [Y/N] said clearly excitement laced on her soft but loud tone. "W-wait! But you still haven't told me where we're going!" I whispered yelled at her. She turned back to look at me. "It's a surprise!" She said smiling, I blushed a bit from her smile and because she was still holding onto my wrist.
"Okay we're here!" She said letting go of my wrist along with the warmth of her small hands. I paused and we were in front of a huge door. Since it was still dark and possibly pretty early I took a closer look and widen my eyes after I figured we were in front of the kitchen door. "[Y-Y/N] do you realized this is the door to the orphanage's kitchen!?" She tilted her head to the side showing that she was confused. She then looked at the door and back at me. "Yeah." I sweatdropped at her statement.
The [H/C] haired girl rolled her eyes before grabbing his wrist once again. "Just come. Oh! Wear this really quick over your pretty eyes." [Y/N] said with a closed eyed smile handing Atsushi the fabric. He took the fabric from her tiny hands, he didn't want to keep asking her more questions so he hesitantly wrapped it around his eyes.
She grabbed his hands into hers opening the doors. [Y/N] lead the boy around so he wouldn't bump into anything. He almost trip making the girl giggle. He then felt her hands let go of his. He heard another door opening again and she lead him once more. "Okay you can take it off." He took it off to be met with darkness. "[Y/N?" He then heard the sound of a match lighting.
The small tiny match lit up. She put it towards a candle and lit another one, and another. Until 8 candles were lit up. A small cake could be been by the small light the candles gave. She grab the cake and walked towards Atsushi. "Happy Birthday Sushi!"
I was dumbfounded at the sight. Now I remember what today was. 'Today is my birthday. How could I forget.' I thought to myself. "Make a wish Sushi." She smiled putting the tiny handmade cake closer to me. I closed my eyes to think of a wish. After I thought of one I blew on the candles making [Y/N] letting out a small giggle and he smiled. She went back to put the cake on the table and went to the back. She let her head out, "I have a gift for you." "What is it?" I asked. "First you must sit down." She told me and I complied, I was also curious of what she got. We don't have our own money and it's impossible for us to have any. She came out fully having something in her hands. She carefully walked towards me. I then knew what she gifted me once it was in front of me.
"It's your favorite, tea on rice."
"..."
"What's wrong? You don't like it-" She stopped herself after hearing a small sniff and a small tear falling on the side of his cheek.
"N-No I love it. Thank you [N/N]!" He turned to her a huge smile on his face making her smile.
