My eyes fluttered open a bit when I heard conversing on the phone. "Yes." I heard Brians voice distinctly ring out along with a few other mumbled exchanges. before he hung up the phone. Having something and meeting there later in the week were glued in mind.
"Who was that?" I questioned sleepily rising up from my place on the bed. I pulled the sheets up and over my bare chest.
"Wrong number." He said with a casual smile as he reproached the bed and tried to kiss me. I turned my head so his kiss landed on my cheek instead of my lips.
"It didn't sound like no one." I shot him a slightly suspicious look as he pulled away for a moment.
"There's nothing to worry about Charlie. If it was important I would tell you."
Now My discernment was going off. I've always had a very sharp intuition and I know I wasn't dreaming. My brows furrowed together slightly,
"I should probably be heading back. If Dom finds out that I'm not there he'll have a fit."
With that I attempted to stand up but he reached for my wrist and pulled me back down on to the bed.
"I can take you back in the morning before anyone comes." He kissed my wrist and gave a slight pleading look with his eyes.
I shifted my gaze away from him and began to shake my head slowly but he wasn't giving in he placed more kisses up my arm. An exhale escaped my lips when he brushed back my hair and kissed the sweet spot on my neck.
"Stay." he mumbled against my neck as laid kisses across my collarbone and slightly cocky smile plastered on his lips.
"No." I said a bit more firmly while smiling deep. I was trying to resist the urge to say yes but it was becoming more difficult. Butterflies were erupting in my stomach as he continued to kiss my neck and jawline.
"Stay." He said again a bit firmer as he smiled and connected our lips brushing my hair out of my face and to the side.
"I cant." I stated sympathetically.
"Yes, you can." He insisted with a large smile, "Come on stay with me. Don't worry about Dom and the gang." His face was inches away from mine. My eyes fluttered shut as he kissed my forehead and jawline.
"Fine." I finally caved, rolling my eyes and pushed him backwards slightly. "I guess I'll stay but it's only because I like the way you beg."
"Oh really. You liked that?" He leaned into me closer pushing my body backwards onto the bed.
"Yeah, kind of." I smiled mischievously and scrunched my nose as he hovered over me a look of possession danced through his eyes and it made me feel breathless. Whenever Dom or Vince looked it me that way it enraged me or nauseated me but something about Brian was changing me.
He leaned down to kiss me, a bit rougher this time, my hands ran up his chest and linked around his neck as we continued.
He did bring me back around 6 in the morning. No one was out yet since it was Saturday, things usually started later on the weekend. I let him kiss me one more time before I escaped upstairs. I was to flustered to sleep my mind was in a pure state of euphoria. Something it hadn't experienced in a long time.

"Well look whose alive." I heard Letty's voice emerge from the other side of the garage. I didn't need to be at Garretts on the weekend but I didn't mind helping maintain things and it helped Dom and the gang out that I had access to all the parts and systems.
"Hey." I said casually trying to hide my startled expression from her by quickly turning and checking the next item off the inventory list.
"You didn't call Mia last night. She was nearly freaking out. I tried telling her you were alright and probably just tired."
Mia and Letty were the only ones that knew Brian and I went out. Anytime I went anywhere I always called Mia to let her know I made it home fine. It was sort of this sister pact we had with one another. I couldn't believe I forgot about it but at the same time I can.
"So...how'd it go? Why didn't you call?"
"It was alright. I was just tired." I replied with a half smile and I could see her expression change from interested to skeptical as I looked away to check off another few items off my list. She gave a quick scoff, "Well there are one two reasons why you wouldn't call her afterwards. One being that you're dead which is obviously crossed off the list. And two....would be because you never came home at all."
She started to circle around me suspiciously, glancing me up and down rapidly before coming to her conclusion,
"Son of bitch!" She began in a way to loud of voice while simultaneously shoving me in the shoulder, "You fucked him!"
"Shhhhh!" I hushed her quickly placing my hands over her mouth. I glanced around the shop floor to make sure no one was around the here her. She quickly forced herself away from me.
"Bullshit shhh. You know no one else is here!"
"Can you just keep it down, please."
"Oh man Mias going to love this.
"You cant say anything to her."
"Why, What happened?" Her eyes widened as she stepped closer to me deeply intrigued.
"I don't know. And you just can't. It's my building I'll tell her myself."
"Well something had to happen to get you to change Charlie. Mia said you were a wreck before leaving the house last night. What did he do drug you?"
I shook my head a few times, "No ass whole he didn't slip me anything. It just happened."
"Yeah right." She crossed her arms in disbelief, "Things like this don't just happen to you Charlie because your a stiff."
"Look i don't know what to say. I started off the night feeling like I was going to hurt again. Then we drove out to the restaurant and things were fine. We talked a while and then went down to docks."
"Where you had your first race?"
"Yeah, I told him a bit about that and you guys and while we were there he kissed me."
A soft smile spread across her lips but quickly changed to a playful one when she saw how, obviously, flustered and embarrassed I was. My cheeks were burning and I felt myself growing more nauseous as I spoke.
"And after that?" She pushed with a cheeky smile.
"One thing lead to another and we went back to his place. He dropped me back off here this morning. Okay. Happy now?"
"Wow." She said after a few moments of silence, "Dom is going to have a fucking fit."
"Oh please don't tell him Letty!!" I began to panic and beg desperately, "I knew this was all a mistake. I told Mia it would be hell on earth but she never listens to me-"
"Woah hey! Time-out girlie. I'm only playing. You know I have your back on this. And it's not a mistake.... I know you don't really feel that way.
"I don't what I feel...."
She gave a small sigh before placing her hands on my shoulders, "Happy?" She suggested with a sweet smile. Letty could be really compassionate and sweet when she wanted to be.
"I guess so. I don't really know." I replied while shrugging my shoulders.
"Charlie for once in your life don't overthink things. Enjoy them. If you had a good time last night then enjoy it. Don't worry about what Dom thinks."
I gave out a slight chuckle, "Well like I said before, if there was complications, Brian is apparently pretty confident that he can whoop Dominics ass."
"Hey, no offense to Spilner but blue eyes has no chance against Dom."
"Thats what I said." I smiled back, "And besides it's not Doms ass I want him to kick anyway....it's Vince's."
She let out a deep laugh which made me smile a bit bigger,
"You and me both girl. Rumble in the Sands Part 2. Now that's a fight I'd pay to see."
I was thankful for Letty support and sworn secrecy in all of this. After she left I went upstairs and immediately called Mia to fill her in on everything that happened last night. Her emotion was all over the place. Anger for not calling her. Shock that we hooked up. Excitement that things appeared to be going well between us. My biggest concern though was what came next. Dom wasn't going to remain out of the loop for long.
"So are you going to admit that I was right!"
"Never in a million years because you weren't it was just a fluke."
"You realize how stupid you sound right. You had sex with the guy Charlie there is no more cheap excuses and poor forms of denial."
I tapped my foot impatiently as she rambled on and on.
"Mia can we focus on the important stuff here?"
"Which is?" She asked with genuine confusion.
"How long do you think we can hide this from Dom?"
"Thats a good question Charlie but I don't know and it's definitely not going to be me that sets him off."
