The rest of the day seemed to pass slowly, each minute seeming 600 seconds long instead of just 60. But when the bell finally rang, Uraraka gathered her items as quickly as she could before rushing out of the classroom. As she made her way down the hall, she navigated around the other students leaving the school.
The large glass doors of U.A. swung open with a stampede of students.Uraraka sprinted towards the herd and maneuvered between the rushing students. When she finally made it out of the doors, she was panting. She could barely breathe with all the students surrounding her. When she finally caught her breath, her eyes searched the courtyard, looking for Deku. She walked closer to the fountain. The fountain's edge was covered with sitting students. She circled the fountain, but didn't see Deku at all. Uraraka sighed as she stopped back where she started. 'Would Deku really stand me up like this?" Uraraka looked around, losing hope, when she felt a hand on her shoulder.
Her heart skipped a beat. Uraraka wheeled around, expecting to see a random creep with a weapon, but instead, she was surprised to see Deku standing there. Deku stepped back in surprise. "Oh! Deku! I'm sorry, you just surprised me!" Uraraka said as she bowed in apology.
"Oh, no. It's my fault. I should have said something." Deku excused. He looked around the courtyard. "Hmm, this place is far too crowded. We should go somewhere else." Deku said, nose scrunched.
"You can't just tell me here?" Uraraka asked. Deku looked away and began to blush.
"U-um, well...it's kinda...private..." He responded, his voice trailing off. He shook his head, as if to snap out of his feelings. "Anyway, I think I know a better spot for us." Deku said as he grabbed Uraraka's hand and began to walk out of the U.A. gates. They walked for a while until they reached a small park. There was barely anybody there, and the people who were were being quiet or were too far away for them to hear. "This way, I know a place." Deku said with a smile. He dragged them to a small bench underneath a swaying willow tree. As they sat down on the bench, Uraraka noticed Deku's facing getting slightly more red. When they settled on the bench, Uraraka spoke.
"So, Deku...what did you want to tell me?" She asked softly. Deku stared into her brown eyes, as if he was fighting with himself. He took a deep breath.
"Uraraka, there's something I've wanted to tell you for a while and..." His voice got quiet.
"Yeah?" Uraraka urged. Deku grabbed Uraraka's hand.
"And I've only had enough courage to tell you recently," Deku paused. Uraraka nodded her head.
"...Uraraka...I...I like you." He finally said. As soon as the words left his mouth, his face turned cherry red and he looked away from Uraraka. "I-...I've wanted to tell you, but...I didn't know how you'd react so I...waited." He added. Uraraka was now uncontrollably smiling. Even tears of happiness gathered at the corners of her eyes.
"Izuku, I...I like you too." She replied. Deku slowly looked back at Uraraka. Their faces moved closer and closer, until...their lips interlocked in a soft touch. Deku reached a hand up to Uraraka's face, cupping her cheek.
Uraraka's eyes fluttered open when Deku's hand touched her face. His hands were a little rough, because of all his training and practice. Uraraka moved her empty hand to Deku's shoulder. This pulled them closer.
When they moved apart, Uraraka and Deku looked at each other, smiling. They rested their foreheads against each other.
"Uraraka...I love you."
"I love you too, Deku."
