Excessive drinking is harmful to your health, and the consumption of drugs can result in addiction and death.
Seoul, Itaewon-dong
"Where are you going?" Hye Ra asked her husband.
"Do you care?"
"Not really," Hye Ra replied and sipped on her glass of Rosé d'Anjou.
Kwon Jin swiped the glass and drank the rest of its contents, "I told you no alcohol."
"Stop pretending to worry; it's frightening."
Kwon Jin never loved her; they had a lighting marriage two months after meeting for the first time. Shy, Hyer Ra was impressed by Kwon Jin's charisma; she fell for the man.
Everything seemed beautiful and fairy-like, but it was a blue delusion. The reality of being the man's wife had nothing of a fairytale.
Nights and days alone, filled with boredom and forced to fulfill duties of public appearances at country clubs, golf courses, and galas. A superficial life in which Hye Ra suffocated. And so she dreamt of having a baby, the only thing which could capture Kwon Jin's attention. The woman prayed it to be a son, but she didn't get the occasion to know she had miscarriages.
Hye Ra felt guilty, a bad and unworthy wife. Now she desired peace of mind, which she found in a hobby; with it, life seemed to find a particular form of meaning.
"Marie, ne servait plus d'alcool à madame ce soir," Kwon Jin said before leaving.
It was Saturday night, and it had been a hard week at senator Kang's office; Kwon Jin needed to free his mind. He wondered if the L'Hexagone could offer him the distraction he needed.
Seoul, Samseong-Dong
L'HEXAGONE
on ne vit qu'une fois
L'Hexagone was a must-be place; if one wanted an equivalent in terms of legends, some would say it was the Korean Viper Room. That night L'Hexagone would confirm the myth even more.
Soo Yeon shivered as the cold crept in her black skin-tight one-sleeved dress, which reminded her of an 80's video she had seen once where the whole band of women with red lipstick dressed like her.
Lee Rim displayed her home shopping presenter's smile as she prompted, "smile, Soo Yeon; otherwise, no one will help us to get in."
They were lucky an idol about to enter the club stopped and came back on his steps.
Lee Hyun Gu smiled, "what are you doing here, girls?" He eyed Lee Rim before scanning Soo Yeon; the idol was aware she was underage. As Lee Hyun Gu called the bouncer, Soo Yeon thought it was game over.
"Let these two in," Hyun Gu said to the huge man who opened the ribbons to let the girls pass. Lee Hyun Gu was generous, with Lee Rim giving him an Oppa at every second the idol made them join him VIP square. Other celebrities filled the space, some were already drunk, and some appeared to be thriving on something else.
In the VIP square, the girls could dance. It was spacious and nothing like what Soo Yeon imagined.
Above from another private room, Marc watched how his club filled. Marc Joubert was enigmatic. Daily, people knew him as Kwon Jin's PA. At night he was either La Main doing all the scruffy jobs Kwon Jin did not want to get his hands dirty with or the lord of Seoul's nightlife. Nobody suspected the foreigner who had such a refined appearance. His family, tired of his slip-slops, exiled Marc to South Korea.
In Korea, the mad chemist polished his most incredible creation Nirvana Blue. It wasn't the type of drug that would seduce Europeans. The translucent pill was too clean, maybe a limit too refined, but for the Asian market, it was a nouveau chic to have the teardrop on one's tongue. It dissolved rapidly for a maximum effect in seconds. The consumption of another product enhanced the experience. The superb and mind-blowing experience came when you took medicine for a cold with it.
In the few years Marc spent in Korea, he became wealthy, and with Kwon Jin's evil genius, the business was more lucrative than ever.
"Well, well, isn't it a good night for L'hexagone, mon Cher ami?" Kwon Jin said, entering the room.
"See for yourself," Marc replied, letting Kwon Jin take place next to him in front of the enormous glass, which gave a panoramic view of the nightclub.
What Kwon Jin saw pleased him, "there you are, my kitten."
For Kwon Jin seeing the baby-faced girl, he remarked at the Supernova bash was a sign. There was something about her, a mystery. Even how she got into the club intrigued him.
"Who have you spotted?" Marc inquired.
"The girl from the Supernova party, just there," Kwon said and pointed on Soo Yeon.
"You seem to like the younger; she looks 15."
Kwon Jin smirked," she only looks; women are deceiving. The younger they are, the better. They give you Oppas, and they throw I love yous all over the place. They sulk when you don't call them, and they send messages with emojis. Their eyes light up like fireworks when you buy them a limited edition of a designer bag; young women are so cute.
"Nothing like the 30-year-old wrenches we call wives. Without forgetting their appetite, those young girls have an imagination nourished by the over-sexualized mass media. You can't get bored; believe my friend, you are lucky to have the freedom to taste every rosebud," he added.
Marc was used to his friend's rumblings; it seemed the more the years passed, the more Kwon Jin searched for worshippers. Unable to tame a specific class of women, the man dug low, aiming women of little experience who believed in the Prince charming and the glass slipper.
"Why are you looking at me like that?"
Marc hesitated to ask him; it had only been a month since she last kitten disappeared. The left-hand man wondered if Kwon Jin grieved or even shed a tear. The question was on the edge of his lips, which burned to ask Kwon Jin if he missed her, but Marc's instincts told him not to. So he dismissed the inquiry for another more appealing one.
"Do you want me to ask a waiter to bring her? "Marc said, adjusting his round spectacles, which made him look like Harry Potter.
"You took the words out of my mouth, mon Cher Ami," Kwon Him said with a smile, thinking about how he would persuade Soo Yeon to become his new toy.
