Deputy is an awesome role for your oc! It explains a lot about struggles to become leader. It helps with bonding to characters. Firestar was an amazing Character, because we were able to learn about his bond with his clanmates. Let's start out with perks and cons about this amazing role!
Perks!
Deputies are in charge of patrols. They are able to send any cat out to help the plot.
Deputies are easy goers. They care about nothing but their clan. Starting out as leader only shows their greedy, powerful side. Deputy is a role that helps character attachment.
Cons!
When a patrol crosses a border, or starts a fight, the deputy will always be half to blame.
As we saw Brambleclaw as deputy, unless the deputy was your main, they are quite plain. You don't learn lots about them as they always stay with their leader, or are out on patrol.
Really that's all I have to say. Nobody really takes this role, or does anything bad with it!
