Plot Fixers Part 2, Not enough Chapters

This happens a lot. And I mean A LOT. This can happen for two main reasons.

1. Your character is too powerful and intelligent, so it beats the villain easily in like 5 chapters.

2. You don't like boring writing, so you make the plot speedy so you don't have to wait.

These are valid reasons. But not exceptionable ones. Boring chapters aren't fun, take it from me. BUT they can really get the story going. You build up tension in your readers, and they read it more so they can get to the action. Powerful characters, as I spoke of in the Customization chapter aren't great. Try making a storyboard before creating your story. Here's an example:

Without storyboard:

Alright.....hm what first........uhhhh. Maybe an explosion here? Yeah yeah. Make the main's mother die. YEAAAAH. *Later on* Alright. My main can't die.......OH! His mother comes to save him........yeah. Sounds good.

(No. His mother already died.)

With Storyboard:

Alright. His mother can't die, so I'll use her later. His father is deputy. Now I can weave this into a perfect plot fixer.

(Much better eh?)
