WHAT TO DO WHEN WRITING ABOUT HUNTING

(Name) would jump, grabbing the prey and trotting away.
What to do:
(Name) sprung, trying to grab the prey in their paws. The mouse scurried away. They leaped back at it, finally piercing it's skin with their claws.
Better huh?
Also, you can't say you caught EVERY piece of prey you saw. (Unnatural)
