"Would you like to come over? After school I mean," Luke trembled at the thoughts he had. For about a year he had been in love with his best friend, Alex. The thoughts he had made himself sick. What was wrong with him?
"Sure," Alex closed his locker and smiled. Luke hated the fact Alex had about two inches on him. He always had to look slightly up to him. Alex smiled a gentle smile.
Luke had gotten pretty good at not blushing in moments like these.
"Did you ride your bike today?" Luke asked grabbed a random text book from his locker. He never cared for school. He wanted to be in a band, make music, tell his story.
"Nah, I rode with Bobby," Alex messed with Luke's hair.
Luke often got jealous of Alex and Bobby's friendship, though he knew it was nothing more than that; friendship.
"Well then I'll see you at my place."
"Oh! Are Emily and Mitch gonna be there?" Alex called out.
"Of course."
Alex was never close with his parents, so he found comfort in Mr. and Mrs. Patterson.

"What is this?" Alex crinkled his nose and suppressed a gag while looking at his lunch tray.
"Uhm," Luke scanned his own tray. "Well." Luke couldn't find a clue to what the mysterious substance was. He sniffed it and pressed his lips together tight to not throw up.
"Do not eat," Alex spit it back up into a napkin. "Lord are they trying to poison us," He laughs a little. Luke noticed how the pink of his favorite hoodie made his hair look brighter. He smiled and just played it off as smiling at his joke.
Alex always held his head up with this radiating confidence. He never cared for anyone's opinion, well not that anyone could tell. He wore "unmanly" clothing and liked "unmanly" things. To Luke that just made him more special.
A flock of blonde haired girls, with the exception of one, came up behind Luke and placed their hands all over him. They leaned into him and giggled the most obnoxious laughs ever.
"Hey, get off him. He isn't your little toy," Alex scowled. He was always disgusted at how teen girls acted around Luke.
The girls whisper to each other and cross their arms like children. "Are you his little body guard?" A red headed girl pouted her lip and looked at Alex.
Alex stood up and look down at the girls. He had a huge height advantage to them. He was 5' 10 while the girls averaged at about 5' 4.
"You could call me that."
The girls rolled their eyes and walked away to an abandoned table.
