Klaus looked out the window of the plane as it began its descent into New Orleans. A feeling of dread and hurt began to weigh on his chest. He was incredibly sore. His own body was able to feel the toll that the beatings his fiancé was receiving via the bond, and my god did it hurt. He took a few deep breaths and closed his eyes, just focusing on his breathing. Then he heard it. Her voice. She was reaching through the bond.

"Nik..."

He perked up and furrowed his eyebrows. 'Baby? Is that you?' He projected his speech through his head across the bond. Please work...

He heard her laugh weakly and her sniffles. "Oh thank christ..."

He smiled in absolute relief and leaned his head back against the seat. 'Hi, sweetheart.'

"Hi," he could hear the smile in her soft voice before she broke off to cough. "They got me good this time baby."

'I know angel. I can feel it.'

"Through the bond?"

'Mhmm.'

He heard the sigh coming out of her mouth and could imagine that she leaned back against a wall somewhere. "Nik... please tell me you'll be here soon. Tell me something good. Please."

He closed his eyes and nodded a little. Luckily he was sitting alone so no one was around him for this. 'We're almost there baby. Hold on for me just a little longer. We're coming.'

He heard the small laugh escape her mouth and it made him smile. "I'm holding on baby. I'm holding on for you."

"That's my girl," he whispered softly, out loud this time. He heard her sniffle and his heart broke for her. 'Please don't cry sweetheart. We're almost there baby. Just keep holding on. I'm coming. I promise.' He heard her sniffle and he rested his hand down on the seat, pretending that hers was underneath it. 'I love you so much, my darling. Just keep holding on for me a little bit longer.'

"I-I love you too Nik... Fuck I love you so, so much. I-I'll see you soon, o-okay?"

'Absolutely angel. I'll see you soon.' And after that, the bond closed off again, and he didn't realize that the plane had now already landed in New Orleans. He sighed and shook his head, getting up and grabbing his bag from the seat beside him and making his way out the door. He looked up at the sky and saw storm clouds approaching. The weather wasn't the only storm coming to New Orleans.

The Mikaelsons, Cullens, and the gang from Mystic Falls made their way in separate cars to the Mikaelson compound, which had been abandoned since the day they'd all left. The Mikaelsons looked visibly uncomfortable being here, but the Cullens and the Mystic Falls crew made themselves right at home inside the compound. After some deep cleaning and getting settled in, everyone turned in for the night. Everyone except the Mikaelson siblings, Wesley, and Karoline.

"So what's our plan?" Freya asked softly.

"We aren't staying here for very long. We know she's here in New Orleans, but we still need to pinpoint her exact location. We can't just go tearing up the entire city, grab her, then leave again." Elijah spoke up with his arms crossed over his chest.

"I say we grab her then just get the fuck out of here. Lord knows none of us want to be here." Kol huffed and crossed his arms over his chest.

"No. Elijah is right. We can't just go tearing up the city, as much as all of us want to, just to go find her." Rebekah chimed into the chat.

The siblings bickered back and forth, but one of them was noticeably silent through it all. Klaus.

Karoline looked over at him and walked over slowly, gently resting her hand on his arm. "Are you okay?" she asked him softly, her eyes filled with worry.
