It had been a few scary days for everyone, but also relieving at the same time. While Cas was safe, she had to spend a night in the hospital.

The full extent of her damage was quite a lot. Blood loss, malnutrition, nerve damage, dehydration, bullet wounds, stab wounds, and a few bones that had broken and healed incorrectly that needed to be re-broken and set properly. She needed to have a blood transfusion because of how much blood she lost, as well as a surgery to remove all the bullets that had been lodged into her body.

Carlisle had been the one to do the surgery thanks to some handy dandy compulsion, and he even managed to bring her back home to the compound once he was sure she was stable. Thank god she had been unconscious during everything that had taken place, and she felt absolutely nothing.

That being said, however, she still hadn't woken up yet. She was currently lying unconscious in Klaus's bed, her breathing steady, an IV line in her arm.

Klaus currently sat beside her, holding one of her hands in his and gently stroking her cheek with his other. He never once left her side other than when she needed surgery, solely because he wasn't allowed inside the operating room. He could sense through the bond that she was doing alright, that she was just tired and weak and needed some time. But he was patient. And he had a feeling that she would be awake soon.

He looked up when Wes knocked on the door. "Hello."

"Hey." Wes smiled a little and leaned against the doorway. "Has she woken up yet?"

Klaus shook her head. "Not yet. But I have a feeling she'll be awake soon."

"Anything over the bond?"

"She's doing okay. She's just weak, tired. She just needs time." He looked back down at her and gently rubbed his thumb over her engagement ring. Somehow, through everything, her ring was still intact and had no damage. Not that he cared much about it, after all it was just a ring. He could always get her the same one, or a different one should she choose. But it was just something comforting to know that she was really here. She was still his. He swallowed a bit and looked down at the sheets. "I hope it's soon, anyway."

Wes pressed his lips together and walked over, gently resting a hand on his shoulder. "She'll wake up soon. I know she would. She just needs time."

He sighed and nodded, rubbing his face with the hand that wasn't holding hers. He heard the rain outside beginning to pick up again and chuckled. "Guess it's the season for rain again, here."

"You know, I always hated this city. But Cas? She always wanted to come." Wes chuckled and shook his head. "There's a lot of places she's always wanted to go."

"I have every intention of taking her to them all." Klaus chuckled at Wesley's remark about hating the city. "You know, I don't blame you for hating it here. I did."

"Did?" He raised an eyebrow at him and took a seat beside him. "I thought you hated New Orleans."

"I hate what it stands for to my family. The actual city itself, however, I actually still love." He sat back but kept holding his fiancé's hand. "The art, the music, the history, even the weather. I love it. But the things that have happened here..." His face fell into a frown. "It tainted it."

Wes nodded slowly in understanding. "May I offer a piece of advice?"

"Of course." If it were probably anyone else, he would tell them to shove it. But he and Wesley had grown close, and he trusted him and valued what he said.

"I think you should talk to Cas about how you are feeling when she wakes up, and I think you two need to have a deep discussion about your feelings, as well as her own." Wes looked down at his best friend before looking back to Klaus. "Be honest about how you feel about being in New Orleans, and be honest about how you feel about this whole situation that's happened. You would be surprised at how much you'll feel better and how much more you'll be able to find yourself being able to heal again." He stood up and smiled softly at him. "Let me know when she wakes up, alright?"
