Chapter-7 Is It My Fault?

I interrupted and said," can y'all please speak clearly, I can't understand a thing. Who's behind it? tell me." Aunt Sabrina said," no one else, your so-called mom, whom you wanna find. She's behind you to kill you. I guess you'll make it easy for her." Aunt Irene interrupted and said," don't scare the child, let's find a way to save her but how? Last time when we had combat. I lost to her and I guess you beat her *ss down."

Aunt Sabrina said," yeah, I beat her *ss down but no one knows how much power she has at the moment and what she's up to? We don't even know where she is? I guess we should ask May for help." Irene said," who's May? Do I know that girl?" Aunt Sabrina said," yeah, she's my son's girlfriend and she's damn strong."

My dad started laughing and said," why do all cowards get strong girlfriends. Like John got Veronica, Jonathan got Irene and the biggest coward of all Arnold got the strongest one May." I looked up at Aunt Sabrina's face, she glared at my dad as she's gonna kill him. I quickly try to flip the topic and said," ahjumma, how did uncle Johnathan die?"

She said," he was killed by someone when John was young but don't worry we've taken care of everything and teared up his murderer into pieces. I've got his revenge." Aunt Sabrina said," yeah, I helped her a bit by providing her information." My dad interrupted," Hey guys don't forget me, it was me who found the murderer and told about it to you."

May interrupted," Hey, I'm here. Mom, why did you want my help?" I asked," mom? Since when did you start to call her your mom." May answered," I'm her soon to be her daughter in law. So I can call her whatever I want. Let's get straight to the point."

Aunt Sabrina narrated everything to her. May asked," can I get a detailed explanation, why does Veronica's mom want to kill her daughter. There must be a reason that she went to that extent." My dad said," yeah there's a reason, the reason is me I guess. It's all my fault." May said," can you speak clearly so that I can understand."

He said," it's back when I and Casey insisted to get married but were opposed by her mother. We secretly married and when my mother in law got the news that Casey was pregnant with Veronica, she died. Since then, I don't know what happened to Casey but she completely changed. She left without seeing Veronica once she was born and never came back."

I broke into pieces listening to this. Is it my fault? Weird thoughts started getting collected in my mind. I was busy blaming myself when May said," yeah, I got the whole scenario but how did she change? Was she a bit different before her mother died?"
