Melissa's pov

It has been a few months since I started training the men with the beads. To be honest, I am the recruits favorite trainer. I always have different obstacles and training sessions every day. So there is always something new for them to do.

I put them in situations that might be what they might run into when in battle. They all love me, and they always are trying to please me. I love training them and I love the feeling that I am helping to stop the war, even if I'm not going into battle.

Bucky's pov

It has been three months, two days, and 3 hours since Melissa left to train new recruits. I know that it sounds weird that I have been counting the days since she left.

I also know that she told me not to enlist, but I can't stand by as men are dying and I am just staying home relaxing and not doing anything. I enlisted last week, and when I told Steve, he went on a long ten minute lecture.

He reminded me that Melissa would be pretty pissed off when she finds out that I enlisted. I told him what's done is done. I will explain everything to Melissa in a letter once he arrived at his training camp.

I was currently on a train heading towards an army training camp called 'Camp Lehigh'. When I got my letter telling me to go there, the name sounded familiar, but I couldn't quite place where I had heard it.

I shrugged it off, thinking that one of my other friends who had joined the army had mentioned it. I am writing a letter to Melissa, explaining my reasoning in enlisting despite her telling me not to. I am a grown man and I don't need her telling me what to do.

I finished writing the letter, and I placed it in an envelope. I licked the corners, and I closed the envelope securely. I stopped what I was doing when the train stopped in front of a station.

I got my bags and I got off the train with all of the other recruits. We all were loaded in a large army bus. We made it to the camp in about ten minutes, max. We all unloaded and we stood in a line.

One after the other, we were assigned to tents, and given uniforms. I walked over with a couple of other guys to a large, rectangular tent. One of the flaps was opened, and I ducked into the tent. There were two rows of small cots with a thin sheet and top blanket.

I walked over to an open cot on the left side, closest to the opening of the tent. I set my bag down, and I sat heavily on the cot. I layed back and put my arms under my head. I looked up at the roof of the tent.

I was a little scared for the training. How tough will our trainer be? I hope that I do well. Thoughts like these were running through my head. It was already dusk when I arrived, and by now, the sun was gone and it was dark.

All you could hear were the crickets chirping, singing for their soulmate. Melissa's my soulmate. I was surprised by my certainty in what I had just thought. I suddenly hear someone yell over the speakers, "Lights out!".

I heard the sound of lights being shut off, and soon, I fell asleep.

Melissa's pov

I had just finished getting dressed and ready when I walked out of the tent. I took a deep breath of fresh air. I was excited because we just got a new batch of recruits coming in today. I couldn't wait to start training them.
